RIP, Ms. Carroll. I remember that my late mother loved "Julia" as one of the few TV nurses who didn't spend time mooning after a doctor or otherwise acting like an idiot.

This was a show our whole family gathered around the TV for, not because it was groundbreaking but because it was just that good. It was pre Mary Tyler Moore & That Girl so it was inspiring to me showing a strong woman who took care of her child without some man doing all the heavy lifting.
