Diahann Carroll, Oscar-nominated, pioneering actress, dies

She could act, sing, dance, was very beautiful, add to that she was a pioneer for black celebrities! You will be missed Diahann.

On YouTube, the interview with Ms. Carroll linked below on her early and adult personal and professional history can be found in various parts related to different subjects.

The link to the entire interview on the Television Academy's website is below (listed as being 4 hours in length, thus my suggestion for searching YouTube for the various topic areas).

This was a show our whole family gathered around the TV for, not because it was groundbreaking but because it was just that good. It was pre Mary Tyler Moore & That Girl so it was inspiring to me showing a strong woman who took care of her child without some man doing all the heavy lifting.

I didn't know she had been such a ground-breaking actress but I loved her in White Collar!

May she rest in peace.
