Mao is giving us Music from a Musical - unless she's changed the version of "Defying Gravity" she's skating to, lol.

Just puttting it out there that I think it's ridiculous that junior women can't do 3axels in the SP. Wouldn't be the first time I've disagreed with the rules .....

Ted's making a liar out of himself - says that Jr women can't attempt a 3a in the SP - so quickly he's forgotten Sophie Joline! #JusticeForSophieJoline!

This is Kim’s second JGPF, and Nakai and Shimada’s third JGPF.

They can, but it has to be in combination.

It's the same work-around that the senior women (well, the few of them) had to do for many years until they added the 3A as a solo-Axel option.

Here I was thinking Gladki would be all avant-garde and wild. She's a lot smoother than Schild but the jumps get zero lift, zero distance, and she's slow for now.

Pleasant skating, and I did enjoy how she took her time between jumps in the combo.

I was already excited about Gladki last year but this was special - to go out AT HOME at the biggest event of your life so far this composed and clean - to see her wating after the 3lutz to make sure if she is able to do a double and triple and then calmly decide for the triple was special!
She could use some more speed but her edges are very deep already.

Very admirable skate for Stefania. This costume does nothing for her, but nice way to hold up under the pressure of performing in front of the home crowd.

Small 2a, good solo 3f and 3z-3t. Some work to do on carriage and extending her neck and back. Clean skate

Gladki reminds me of Elena Radionova - really expressive, emotive skating with squeaked out, barely there jumps. Surprised she got a clean call on that 3T in the combo. Seems generous.

Come on Wang, give this program nothing!

All three jumping passes just so solid, so controlled on the landing and no wavering of the edge or body at all. Really nice flying camel, too. Now she just needs to really learn how to sell this.

Actually, all of the spins were fabulous.

Had some trouble with my feed for the first skater so I only got to see the end of Gladki's skate.

But WOW this costumes is a LOT of ideas for Wang. And this music choice is also... something.

wonderful example of "clarity of edges" in the footwork - oh even a level 4 in the Step sequence - that is so rare in Juniors!
