2024 GPF - Junior Women FS

Not only does Stefania skate well but is academic and speaks French, Russian and English well. Hmmm ..... makes me wonder WHY my French is "basic" at best when I live in a bilingual country. Have to admire these over-achievers. We see quite a number of them in skating, it seems.

Yuseong’s FS music (expect her twin sister Yujae is in the audience?):

Hero (soundtrack) by Tan Dun
A Love Before Time (from "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" soundtrack) by Tan Dun

Kim

3a which I would review, same with first combo, jumps got stronger as she went, awkward fall on 3s, she’s usually steady, but this was not her day

Yuseong Kim
3axel okayish
3f 3toe bad landing

she does not even have half the charisma of Gladki

technically mostly efficient and very very boring

someone needs to go to Korea and tell them that blink is not enough

Guess we can mark off "very literal costume" for her then, lol.

So impressed with Wang's technique again today. The triples are so rock solid, the toe-assist jumps have a deliberate toe pick in, and the landings are so smooth.

Almost no prep into the second Lutz

Still think the interpretation is really lacking.

All of Wang's skating seems very slow and cautious - and she's as interesting as watching paint dry.

ETA - but, I can agree with @tony calling the jumps deliberate - that and "methodical" were the other words I was considering to describe her today.

Yihan Wang
puke face
very pretty dress

very obvious comparsiion but she reminds me of Lu CHen, tiny jumps with incredibly fast rotation

much more enjoyable than the Korean skater before her, I think. And I cannot even really say what it is but she drew me in much more!

Wang

I really like her technique, correct picking position and good glide out on landings on jumps. Quality centering and correct positions on spins. The program is very basic with little transitional contents, however, and next to no musical interpretation

Nakai has an interesting jump technique that doesn't work for almost anyone else who does it, usually unintentionally. Her elbows really flare out on some of the jumps while she rotates and it doesn't slow her down at all. It actually is somewhat aesthetically pleasing, even.
