2024 GPF - Junior Men SP

Seo

Very nice flow across the ice, good combo, but edge error, down on the solo jump, this kid has it artistically

Li

Spins out of 3a, and really gripping the toe on the 3f, combo best jumping pass of program good showmanship in his expression

Yanhao Li :cheer:

I am nervous now.

this SP is a masterpiece. I love it so much. So much better than his FS too.

3axel turn out, stalked the entry too a bit
3f df but great entry out of nowhere

nervy skate so far

3z3t

that was not his usual magic but I do not care, I love him :swoon:

There's something so pure about Li's jump technique? Like it really looks like they worked on good clean jumps and never rushed into more rotations if that makes sense?

Good for Li. He was SOOOO nervous. I'm so glad he was able to skate well. After 30 hours of travel, it would have been awful if he had a bad outing. Great flexibility. Needs to warm up the stretch just a tad more to do that spin with the leg up by his shoulder but that was a really good skate for him.

Sena Takahashi
3axel step out and then a near fall shortly after
3lutz bad fall-out, so no combo possible, since they have to do the flip as a solo jump
3flip nice

In between skaters I've been going line by line through the rules, and the last option I found for the Lukas spin drama is:

If there is a clear weight transfer during a spin, this ends the spin and only the first part before the weight transfer is called.

When he did the hop on the same foot during the first half of the spin, he really lost center and balance and I'm wondering if this is what was called. Since the spin 'ends' at that point, he wouldn't have any of the change-foot counted and that could make sense.

I haven’t seen Takahashi before, really enjoyed him. Too bad about the jumps.

anyway when he really let go you can see he has fab skating but those jumps were all over the place

he was super cute at the end though lol so I have hopes he'll easily put this behind him and have a good free

Takahashi

Flip out of 3a, the irony of a skater from one of the most dominant skating nations skating to a song about the downtrodden needing a place to belong, flipped out of 3z, just really wasn’t over his feet today

Sena's expression of the music is wonderful. He's really listening to it and skates "big" with good extension of the limbs. He really brought the audience into it at the end. Mistakes notwithstanding, I really enjoyed his performance overall. My gosh, he's a cute kid too. These guys are SO very young.

Sena's reaction just after the skate and the laughing off the mistakes in the kiss and cry was wonderful to see. Even Hamada seemed to have a slight smile at the mistakes. I'm sure they both know it's just an off day and not the norm.
