Bunny girl stealing all the ice cream in the KnC was just epic! Let’s get an ice cream van!
Cue the Battle of the Swans at RusNats. My prediction as to who will be the last swans standing? P/K!What you have to do is score so many points the fed doesn't have a choice but send you. They'd be fools to send Boi/Koz at this point. I don't think they're fools. But, I'm already resigned to Russian nationals being heartbreaking anyway. I'm stocking up on tissues.
I think that's Alison Purkiss. She's their 2nd coach (also coaches Walsh/Michaud).Rostelecom Day 1 Pairs:
Kadyrova/Balchenko: couldn't focus, as their isu bio does not list 'aladdin' as thir fs anymore, but 'prince pf persia' instead
Mitrofanov: desperately needs better tailored pants!
Pavliuchenko/Khodykin: Her tights I so damn need them in Beijing instead of B/K.
AUT. Is this a new program? Cannot tell. Zzzzh. Sorry, that's a team I just don't connect to at all.
ITA. Rooting for them for some kind of nostalgy effect but meh meh meh program. No spark.
MTM. I don't get it. They are with sister-Marcotte now too? Or is this still an entire team? I am confused.
Galliamov. The grin to start still does it for me, the rest of this program I have seen too often. And I am starting to get meh about his posture. Guess this happens when you're not blinded by total porniness anymore
Overall: Daria leading and Mishina reaction
Best Dressed: -
Do-Hard: Galliamov
They have like a general BOW of work criteria (I can link it later), but mostly SC prefers to go by Nats (more than US fed anyway). But it looks like Kaiya won't be at Nationals (reasons not public), so pretty much it's Madeline's spot to lose.Rostelecom Day 1 Women:
Matsuike. That sealed the deal for her olympic chances.
Schizas. CAN ladies....zzzh. What happened to Ruiter (and her awesome splats?) @RoseRed is there selection criteria fot olympic spot or just national champ?
Mikutina. Badass outfit. Schaller got so good this season, need to recheck AUT criteria. But this was her first outing, so...
Safonova. I love her actual pure, big skating. A shame the pesentation is a big meh still.
Random mid note seeing Vasiliev in knc: What happened to Korovin? Wasn't he supposed to skate with some PHI girl?
Bunnygirl. #tickettotallinn
Kiibus. Petrokina for worlds is getting more and more realisitc.
Hendrickx. She is for sure the only spoiler lady, if one RUS lady decides to falter at Euros. Messy though.
Kurakova. Schott for Euros Top5.
Khromykh. CS POL continues...a shame. I have a soft spot for her.
Valieva. Preferred old dress.
Ryabova. I am starting to sound like @alchemy void but who the **** gets the 2nd AZE euros spot? There are only 2 AZE listed in ISU SB's list, and Beverly Wooden does not even meet criteria
LaTuk. It will suck for 1 of the 4 in contention being left off, but of course it will suck so much more if this one will be Tuk Audience support
Overall. Camera dude missing jumps again. Drunk or bedazzled by @Ka3sha flirt attacks?
Best Dressed: Jorik

women: Kihira, Sakamoto and Higuchi. If Kihira is still injured then Miyahara.
I'd put Mihara on the team over both Higuchi and Miyahara but especially Miyahara. Higuchi is just too wildly inconsistent to be trusted for use in either segment of the TE. Sakamoto is the best bet for the SP and Mihara has been putting up really solid FS scores all season. If Kihira is a no-go, you'd want Mihara on the team instead of either Higuchi or Miyahara.Mihara's been outscoring Miyahara so far this fall.
So will I, @rfisher, so will I! I'd also die laughing if Paniot or Hiwatashi totally hit at Nationals and outscore Brown. And we both know I'd just sit here smirking if Ma or Malinin does it, lol.I will die laughing if Camden totally hits at Nationals and out scores Brown.
Not really seeing how that makes sense? What you have to do is score so many points the fed doesn't have a choice but send you. They'd be fools to send Boi/Koz at this point. 216.96 (IdF) | 212.59 (CoR) |
And that leaves you with one open spot. The Japanese have three women's spots, not two.I'd put Mihara on the team over both Higuchi and Miyahara but especially Miyahara. If Kihira is a no-go, you'd want Mihara on the team instead of either Higuchi or Miyahara.
Well, I'm assuming Kihira will get one spot if she shows up at Japanese Nats in any sort of competitive shape. And Sakamoto should have hers sewn up by making the GPF. Given a choice between Mihara, Higuchi and Miyahara for the 3rd spot, I would go with Mihara. And that leaves you with one open spot. The Japanese have three women's spots, not two.
Oh, I was going with your phrase "if Kihira is a no-go."Well, I'm assuming Kihira will get one spot if she shows up at Japanese Nats in any sort of competitive shape. And Sakamoto should have hers sewn up by making the GPF. Given a choice between Mihara, Higuchi and Miyahara for the 3rd spot, I would go with Mihara.
Scenario 1 - Sakamoto, Mihara, Kihira
Scenario 2 - Sakamoto, Mihara, Higuchi
Well, we'll find out at the GPF and nationals won't we.Not really seeing how that makes sense?
Let's compare the GP results:
Boikova/Kozlovskii Pavliuchenko/Khodykin 205.53 (SA) 193.08 (SC) 216.96 (IdF) 212.59 (CoR)
I don't know how you look at that and say they'd be "fools" to send B/K. That's just not supported by the scores at this point.
And for the record, I prefer P/K and would like them to get the spot.
CAN - the way MTM have been skating, I won't be surprised if they lose to Walsh/Michaud.PAIRS
CAN
Lock - James/Radford, MooreTowersMarinaro. Period.
RUS
Lock - Mishina/Galiamov
Bloodbath - Tarasova/Morozov, Boikova/Kozlovski, Pavliuchenko/Khodykin. This one is going to be hurtful.
USA
No locks.
Bloodbath Slight edge to Cain/Leduc agaisnt Knierim/Frzier, Calalang/Johnson, Lu/Mitrofanov.
RUS - agree on Z/G if healthy, if not - bloodbath between D/S and not M/B but Skoptcova/Aleshin.DANCE
CAN
Lock: Gilles/Poirier, Lajoie/Lagha, Fournier/Sorensen. No contest.
RUS
Lock: Sinistina/Katsalapov, Stepanova/Bukin
Nepotism Battle: The edge is still with Zahorski/Guerreiro if healthy if not, Davis/Smolkin over Morozov/Bagin
USA
Lock: Hubbell/Donohue, Chock/Bates
Blodbath: Green/Parsons over Hawayek/Baker. Epic b++face coming soon.
Dark Horses - none really but Bell & Chen are so inconsistent that who knows.
That silver medal didnt even got her a world spot, let alone an oly spot being last season news. That + awful GP campaign = Hardly any edge/hype.Ummmm Not even a dark horse for the current USA silver medalist? How dare
In da bossman's absence last Deccember, we were debating whether to add unknown kid when he made his debut at Russian Nationals. It boggles the mind that we ended up waiting as lon as we did.I know Unknown kid blew his chances but Kondratituk added so soon? That's kinda insulting for him and kinda desperate for the administration but oh well.
I'd put Glenn and Thorngren in my dark horses list for the US. Amber is the only other US woman to score 200+ this season and Thorngren could certainly play spoiler.Ummmm Not even a dark horse for the current USA silver medalist? How dare
T/M have the highest total score of the season and highest short program score of the season. I think they’re locks not just to go, but most likely also a lock on the short program in the team event (with M/G doing the fs). The real battle is maybe B/K vs P/K, but I’d asterisk that because I think the fed will go with B/K as world medalists.PAIRS

I would mostly agrree with regarding TM being locks if they weren't, well... them. They have the meltdown potential to end up the 4th rus team at both GPF and Nationals.T/M have the highest total score of the season and highest short program score of the season. Canada…. Yeah, with how MTM are skating right now…. W/M tend to have a rough fall and rally at nationals.
I don't think TarMor are likely to meltdown so badly as to finish 4th behind MishGal, BoiKoz and PavKho at BOTH the GPF and RusNats. Maybe one but definitely not both, and they've usually competed very well at RusNats. MishGal are more likely to melt down at RusNats and finish 4th than TarMor (see 2020 & 2019).I would mostly agrree with regarding TM being locks if they weren't, well... them. As for the team event. Pairs this time will be the last individual event, so I can see Mishina/Galiamov doing both team programs.
The following is just for you, boss, but may be helpful for others.
Yes, it could be a scenario where they put their #3 lady (hopefully Tuk) in the TE and split Pairs & Dance; though if they have to use StepBuk in both segments of the TE then they might as well just concede gold to the US right then and there. Which might be a sacrifice they're willing to make if they think they can politik their way to gold for SinKats over PapCiz.Or, M/G meltdown at nationals again and end up 4th again.
Even when clean, M/G haven’t broken 80 in the short. T/M have and with a higher score than S/H have put up this season with the potential to push that score even higher.
For the team event, if they have to split dance, I think they’d be better off to use the same lady because whoever it is will win. If Nikita gets even more injured, it may make it a scenario where S/B have to be the team for both.
Russian men: It’s too bad they can’t just send 3 more of the ladies….
