If we’re talking about the longest gap between two medals, I believe that would still be Svea Noren of Sweden, who was the bronze medalist in 1913 and then again in 1922.

Looking over post-World War II/recent history, it’s extremely rare to go more than two seasons between medals in any discipline.

Indeed, the only instances I can find that exceed that are the Shibutanis in dance (2011, 2016), Eldredge in men’s (1991, 1995), and Pang/Tong in pairs (2011, 2015).

Kostner came within a hair of joining this club in 2018, but, well...

Chock/Bates have a good chance of doing so this year.

I'd actually like Hanyu to win, he's cool. I like Chen too though. I thought pairs, mens, dance, ladies was the traditional order (this may be wrong) and wish they had stuck with that! I really hope we have a lot of clean skates - I just want everyone to skate well and feel good about their performances, pollyanna-style. I will keep my preferences for victors to myself as if they aren't obvious anyway!

Ladies: LALALALALALALALA I'll put Eva-Lotta in just for the hell of it.
Pairs: ditto the ladies (too invested) delusional: Mateo G just because he should.
Dance: sorry, it just has to be Chock but I'll accept Sin/Kats as a substitute. And I want to see Bukin in the KnC with a medal. And hear @taz'smum scream if Tiff/Jon grabbed one. Clearly all of those can't happen, but maybe there'll be a tie and the judges will be weeping with happiness and give double golds or silvers or bronzes.

My biggest wish is for Kolyada to skate his amazing free program clean. If he medals I’ll be overjoyed, but if I get to see that program to perfection, that’s all I need.

I’m so excited for ladies tomorrow I have so many horses in the race I don’t know where to start.The Taljegård-group is such a highlight.

So sad about Hase/Seegert?But so many highlights there’ll be in pairs still. Sui/Han is back to Blues for clook? wow, just wow. And B/K has a Hisahishi SP.

With P/C out, I’ll cheer for anyone in dance who gives me THE MOMENT there and then. But of course, slay Tiff and Jon!!!??????
