FSU Watch Party Saturday #2: 2006 Olympics OD [12:30pm CDT/6:30pm CET]

Delobel/Schoenfelder

Schoenfelder trying out the headband of power

-good twizzles and excellent step sequence
-these two could skate, think their performance ability lags a few of the other teams, though
-fast rotational lift

Chris or Simon saying they didn't get the Latin beat, but neither did Grushina/Goncharov.

why did Denkova/Staviski drop after 2 good seasons with world medals?
can someone recall?

Delobel & Schoenfelder. The costumes were bad, but the program also really just doesn't hold up as Latin for me. Not even ballroom Latin.

Denkova/Staviski

-twizzles got out of sync
-nice deep edges in steps
-couldn't hit the position on the spin
-very evenly matched team in technical skill, he's the bigger personality

IJS and their programs. They had massive missteps in their 2004-2005 season with their program choices, and some say B/A were propped up to create a gap between N/K and the rest with DenStavs being targeted because at the time there was no guarantee Tanith would get citizenship to compete at the Olympics. I just think they had trouble getting those high levels on a few of the elements, especially the twizzles. But then they became World champs a month after this Olympics with Navka out of the way, so maybe...
