I really liked the height and spring of Izzo's jumps. The one nitpicking thing is her stroking across the ice. If she can work on that, her PCS can be great.

World Team Trophy is known to overscore, so Bradie’s scores outside of it should be in the 218-220 range give or take a few points. Consistency and reputation will once again be Bradie’s biggest hurdles. If she maintains her current form and improves, she could very well begin scoring above 225. However, the judges have finally noticed her, as seen by her PCS and GOE’s, so the trajectory is in her favor. Also, she broke TWO American ladies’ international score records, so hopefully she uses this as a jumping point toward bigger goals.

Bradie said of her stellar Free Program:

I think today was the best I have ever skated my long program and I’m super proud of that. It’s been a tough season, so I’m really happy that I was able to skate it so freely today in front of the best crowd. What a great way to end the season. I think this will really be a big confidence booster for me. This season I second-guessed myself a lot when I got out there. I was trying too hard to force it to happen instead of being myself and letting it happen.

A great way to sum up a season of great highs and unfortunate lows. Hopefully Bradie continues to improve and gets a consistent, properly rotated 3Lz-3Lo for the upcoming season. As for Mariah, she had 1 error in her Free which can be fixed with rest and more practice. All in all, the upcoming season is gearing up to be yet another exciting one.

Did the 2018-2019 season seem extra long and exhausting or is it just me? Let's pray that the US ladies continue to slowly (substantially) grow and improve with each coming season leading up to and beyond 2022 Beijing.

- Ting moves to Raf/Hamada and learns the 3A and 4T ... and lands them ... and finds consistency
- Hanna lands her 3A and 4T
- Alysa works on her skating skills, jumps, and overall package ... and moves to Orser (xD)
- Bradie works on her under-rotation calls
- Starr moves to a new coach and finds a new team
- The juniors develop 3A's and some of them Quads
- Bradie to skate as an evil queen or just to dramatic music
- Mariah to shade all her haters and come back with a beautiful, emotive piece
- Alysa to skate to something iconic... but not a warhorse

I just want Ting to be consistent, the Senior ladies to earn multiple GP medals, and an overall excellent season for the US ladies next season. Also... I'm hoping for a few breakouts. We had Ting, Alysa, Mariah, and Hanna all break out this season in some way, so let's see that trend continue with new ladies.

I think we may have turned a corner w/ regard to US ladies. There is a certain resilience among the top echelon of US ladies that didn't even exist a few years ago. As we start this new Olympic cycle, I would say there is relatively less up-and-down in the first season on the road to Beijing among the top skaters than in the run-up to Pyeongchang, Sochi or Vancouver. But of course, the proof is to be revealed over the next couple of years

I'm always surprised when people casually suggest athletes leave their current coaching teams. Alysa's coach, for example, is a woman who has done quite well by her, and seems to have a good relationship with the skater's family. Alysa is young, there are many factors to consider, Orser has his schedule quite full .... Starr has spoken of looking up to Derrick as a role model. Of course, the above are simply talking points, but I never "get" the idea we know enough to advise skaters to toss aside longtime coaches.
