There was speculation that she may have an injury. Nobody knows for sure though. Her performance at last year’s worlds could be attributed to Olympics fatigue and distraction. It is harder to justify her mediocre to poor performances this year. I think that’s why people are having doubts about her. However, I think she will be held up to some extent as an OGM winner, even in Japan. She could medal.

Just to point out, Zagitova’s ‘poor and mediocre’ performances this season (if I can borow your words) were still better than the performances of Medvedeva and Tuktamysheva throughout this season. So why Medvedeva and Tuktamysheva’s ‘poor and mediocre’ performances should be forgotten and Zagitova’s not? I personally have no reason to Zagitova getting any preferential treatment, but your argument is lacking any logic.

Staying back not much terrible for Medvedeva though. Zagitova is not injured. She can’t handle skating pressure, being favored winning. Tukt will be highest scoring of Russian girls at worlds. Probably not winning, but she will save them Let them blame anyone but Medvedeva if they don’t get 3 spots next year.

There is no speculation that she has an injury. She grew - that's the main issue. Getting "older" is the enemy of all ET girls. And mentally, she's having a hard time handling pressure. Having said this, she can medal. Personally, I find her skating difficult to watch this year.

If she does have an injury I hope she is doing what she should to heal it properly, not making it worse by skating when she should not. She is very young with a future ahead of her and is not a disposable.

Her performance at RN was poor. At GPF she was mediocre. Judges have ignored some of her ur. Last year she was almost perfect. So will consider her performances this year poor /mediocre. I cant remember a single performance compsrable with ladt year's.

Tuk was not poor or mediocre this year, except when she was recovering from pneumonia. So your description of her skates is very unfair.

I never said that Med skated well this year. She has struggled all season, so don't accume me of calling her perfornces good.

You seem to be offended that I criticized Zag. Truth is she has been mediocre this season.

I don't see Zhenya became different skater or her jumps became better unfortunately. Her Lz is not clear etc. I didn't like her old SP and thank God they has changed it. I don't like her LP that isn't fit for her and I don't like the choreography. Her spins are worse. Maybe her speed are improved but she makes less TRs thus that can be visible.

I would like to see Liza on WCH. She deserves it.

I agree about her programs this year. Tosca suits her but that switch was made late in the season so she may not get enough mileage on it. Her 2A has improved. It used to be her weakest jump. I think she is dealing with a back injury and that may be affecting her spins. She looked better at the recent competition but I dont feel she is medal worthy at worlds this year. I hope to see her back much improved next season.

Logic dictates that Liza should go to worlds but you never know with politics.

I'm surprised Med's Tosca didn't have more dramatic mime faces or hair grabbing a la Slutskaya given that Misha Ge did the choreography... ( I still can't...with that ending of Slutskaya's Tosca)

I think Liza was given the nod for worlds when she was given higher PCS than she usually gets in the short after Med was clean so I am pretty sure she will be chosen for worlds. Med had a good showing which should encourage her in her prep. for next season and maybe soon her team will feel her new technique and her health and bones are all ready to add more difficulty to her programs. She seems to feel that Liza will go and she definitely deserves it so it is all good.

Truth is she has been mediocre this season.
Compared to her own self last year, yes. But not compared to most other skaters, including the top ones. Of she would not be #1 in ISU season's scores.

New Tutberidze's girl, Veronika Zhilina skated at the local competition (National Defenders' Day Cup).

Darya Panenkova posted 2 short video clips from practicing pairs elements.

later she posted a foto with a comment "we become aware too late" (we realize our mistakes too late)

.... and if anyone is wondering what she is sorry about.... in a 40 min interview she said she wants to go back to Eteri, but not sure she'll take her. Eteri taught her not just skating, but other important life-issues. they parted well, with flowers, Darya just did not want to skate/jump at that time, left the group, Eteri encouraged her to stay and do the GP, Darya stayed home for over a month, then wanted to skate again, and then a month later it was too late, so she had to find another place to skate. she is now coaching part time, skating, and thinking about pairs, and/or asking Eteri to take her back. Well, she admitted suffering pain in interview, but she is training through it.

I really really cannot enjoy Alina this year. Last year she could pull something out of the gimmicky backloaded program and was lovely in her skating. This year... she looks in pain, often looks like she will throw up and burst into tears when she steps on ice and is teary-eyed in kiss and cry even when she was winning. I do enjoy her Galas though.

Maybe so! Whatever the reason, she looks gorgeous!

I personally think they need to skate a program to “The Matrix” because she looks like Trinity, the female lead.

You won't receive many likes for this post..:DThis post Alina's message doesn't fit to the "evil Eteri" image... You show the opposite of the fake image not once but those are not interesting because you " worshipping a coach like a god".. They beleive everything what is bad and fit for their opinions but ignore the great things.. But they know "People are complex and you really don't know them well...these aren't telenovela characters." ;)

Figure Skating Federation of Russia about Worlds team:
- Worlds team will be announced today or tomorrow, right?
- It’s not certain. We don’t know yet. We have a month till Worlds
- Will there be a meeting or press-conference?
- Can’t say. Maybe there will be one.
- ISU deadline is today at 14:00 Moscow time
- Entries (with alternates)will be sent today, but anything may happen in the future - someone might get injured, for example. It won’t be a specific list of three people in each discipline.

They sent all the entries some 2 hours ago, but will not confirm who are provisionally on the team and who are alternatives ?, I guess we will find out someway or the other...
