Oh crap! How did you figure it out so fast?!![]()
Trudi? Seriously?
Hi!
I also remember Morry Stillwell posting with some regularity on RSSIF. (He was a long-time judge, head of the GP Commission and, I think, past president of USFS.)
She rec'd a lifetime ban in figureskating which she should for conspiring to physically injure the competition in order to win. Much worse than doping.
She didn't conspire to injure Nancy. She failed to turn Jeff in after finding out after the fact. The lifetime ban was far too harsh. She should have been allowed to keep the 94 national title as well, since stripping it gives the erroneous impression that Kerrigan would have won. Tonya was a better skater than Nancy and her skates at 94 nationals were better than anything Nancy had done up to that point. Lillehamar was a fluke for Nancy- she normally choked in the free and didn't there (but it wasn't flawless-the doubled flip, the shaky 2axel, the underrotated 2nd 3toe of the 3toe/3toe combo, poor spins in general, lack of speed, and I don't like hold the leg spirals). Tonya was the only woman still competing at that time who could land a 3 axel (and there are videos of her doing textbook ones in practice at 94 nationals). Ito was competing on the pro circuit with Kristi.
Kerrigan's coach Scotvold also took every opportunity to put down Tonya's skating, mean comments about her weight, mean comments about Surya (he said she couldn't skate despite the fact Surya was far better than Nancy ever was as well). 92 worlds- he thought Hubert should of medalled, and thought Tonya's 6th was too high, Nancy was gifted silver. He was even quoted as saying he would of been happy with 5th for Nancy as long as she placed above Tonya. Scotvold unfortunately was better at influencing judges than Rawlinson was.
Tonya thought that just skating your best should have been enough without playing the political game. Skating would have been better off if there were true. Kerrigan's skating was not that good- they just hid her weaknesses by dressing her in Vera Wang. I preferred Tonya over Nancy because Tonya actually went for the difficult jumps and was an excellent spinner. Nancy thought she was entitled to medals for simply showing up, and too often the judges obliged by giving them to her no matter how she skated.
Here is Mirai talking about Tonya, and Mirai is so nice.

Well, Mirai agrees with youI find that little girl voice so annoying and grating. I understand that she can't do anything about it, but I find her so hard to listen to.
(((Japanfan))) Not that I disagree with you but anything that puts Nagasu in a negative light might as well be suicide on FSUI find that little girl voice so annoying and grating. I understand that she can't do anything about it, but I find her so hard to listen to.
KMT has a voice like that, too.

Japanfan must not of ever heard interviews with Zayak and Kwiatkowski. Dorothy had a squeaky voice as well.

BTW " @Japanfan " . . . ummm have you ever heard how Japanese females sound when they talk, in general?
Mirai being Japanese-American, I am not surprised by her voice at all, although I will not be asking her to sing anytime soon.
. . . ever hear how Kristi Yamaguchi talks?
One thing that is really strange about the whack heard around the world:
The fake bodyguard told at least a half dozen people about it even before it happened. None of these people went to the police! He was always making up outrageous stories. Everyone thought it was just another one of his fantasies. Several witnesses came forward after it happened - they were mortified that it turned out to be true.![]()
Exactly. But it just fed in to the haters ‘confirmation bias’ that she either knew and/or participated. Tonya did herself no favors by making the statement she made in the 20/20 special.[/QUOT
