She has to be on the team after that..
Firstly she broke her leg right at the JWC being first after the short, now this...
:gallopin1

She’ll make her way here eventually. Just needs to become a bit more all over the place. These days she’s usually good for a clean SP and not so great but not a disaster FS. She needs more ups and downs.

Her off ice incidents are great though. Complicated love life at age 15, posting glamorous pictures of herself all the time, getting lucky and qualifying for events, then getting injured, having a very persistent and creepy Instagram stalker that’s probably 2 or 3 times her age :gallopin1

If the Ladies' competition at Russian Nationals is the Hunger Games, then the Men's Free is Splatfest 2017 2018. Only four of the sixteen competitors (and none of the top eight) avoided deductions. Any nominations for MESS would be appreciated.

:gallopin1 :watch:

Ignatov Pogosplatted and fell out of a spin and had to practically crawl off the ice. That should earn him a Pogo award nomination.

And Voronov deserves a spot in the HOF. So close and yet so far.

The entire event was just :yikes:

Acronyms:

MEEPOTS: Most Epic Ending Pose of the Season
MESS: Most Epic Splat of the Season
MIMOTS: Most Important Minion of the Season
POTS or #TTW-POTS: (Team Trainwreck) Performance of the Season

Zhulin? He just needs Anna Tsareva to tell him what's what.

I'm torn about Russian nats so far. Oh well, maybe I knew Silver Fox wouldn't make it in the end...sigh... But Ginger Soldier on the podium, I didn't expect that either. :gallopin1

All our ladies...well, they prove why they are here. Sigh again... Such heartbreak...:(:(:gallopin1 but it's not over yet!!! As Bossman would have said: #tillthebitterend
#delusionalviking

But BobSol!!!! I love their FD this year, it's so lovely!
#bobforbronze
#delusionalviking

Radio Lil' Rose :fragile: I am not her fan, but I felt for her.

Poor girl. :wuzrobbed I hope she decides to continue. She really needs another year with Buyanova to address some of the deficiencies in her skating.

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but if I'm the Russian Federation, the time has come to retire Leonova from Grand Prix events. After watching the ladies final today, there are waaay too many skaters who need spots. Leonova can rock out the next four years doing Challengers and C events.

What an emotional competition.
Tears everywhere
:fragile: for Voronov's last chance
 at Zhulin's sobbing at the boards for Bob's last nationals
:fragile: for Radionova and double :fragile: for Buyonova hugging her in the KnC
:fragile: for Stolbova. I don't know what's wrong, but she needs to fix it. Now.
 At Tar/Mor. I love them. And Tarasova is a rockstar who sold that program
:blah: at all the men. None deserve any :wuzrobbed except Voronov and that's not due to his skate
:fragile: for Sin/Kat. They were skating that free the best they've done all season and could have challenged for bronze and maybe silver only to injure his ankle.

:cheer2: For all the Russian ladies. There are too many of them and the quality is better than any other country, hands down. Absolutely amazing.
:cheer2: for a 15 year old girl to hold it together and skate clean in the highest pressure event she's ever skated in.

I tried to check out the men's LP and it was truly unwatchable! Is this normal since Plushenko retired? They were better in official Int'l competitions like the GP Finals just a few weeks ago! The men were pretty horrible! Hopefully the ladies will be more entertaining! I do have a problem with most of them doing their jumps with the arm above the head; so distracting and unattractive IMO! :duh: :kickass: :plush: :sarah1:

To be fair with the russian boys thats your typical big Men's event nowadays. The greediness of the quad mania has turned a clean skate into an extreme rarity. Samoilov showed lots of promise and if Aliev could stop being a headcase. I could hear all the demons inside his head losing it after the step fall.

I'll leave some thoughts here even if they have almost nothing to do with #ttw :p

- Two most pleasant surprises of this Nationals: Boikova/Kozlovsky and Konstantinova :kickass:
Know that they are still somewhere in-between juniors and seniors , but I really hope that they will have great future ahead of them.
It would be extremely hard for Stasia but she has goods and may actually be competitive even with Tutberidze's skaters. I don't think that she is a worse skater than Sotskova, for example, but she has to gain consistency
- Tukt is really slow, didn't expect that, to say the truth. She used to have so much power and passion and now everything has gone  At least her gorgeous lutz is still with her :swoon:
- I think that there must be something in the air at Rukavitsin's rink. I haven't spotted the original lovebirds but run into Leonova and Shulepov few times, who were holding hands and behaved like a couple :shuffle:
- Stolbova :wuzrobbed
- Zhulin's reaction after BobSol's FD was priceless  But the skate itself was really phenomenal :respec:
- #PopovaForEuros
- I want to forgot the entire Men's event asap but Ignatov wasn't bad :shuffle:
- Kostornaia is a fab kid :swoon: she is really tiiiiny but her skating is more mature than Sotkova's and Zagitova's combined
- Speaking of Zagitova, major kudos to Gleikhengauz or/and Eteri :respec: They did a fantastic job with that program, no way it's the most balletic program but it hides Alina's weaknesses so great!
Is she slow? yes.
Is she unpolished? yes.
Is she balletic? no way.
But the music is so powerful and the jumps hit all accents so perfectly, that you (i mean the audience in general) just do not pay attention to her weaknesses when she lands one jump after another
- Sotskova was zzzzzzz and slow as a turtle as we say. Yes, she deserves that spot but that was far from her best and she shouldn't have been ahead of Kostornaia and Konstantinova at lest in the free

Some other thoughts will definitely pop in my mind later but for now that's it :)

Imagine the :drama: if Alina pulls off Oly Gold. Well, judges are somewhat conditioned to her winning, now! So, what the heck - could happen. Or, Miyahara, Kostner, Osmond for the upset?! Yeah, I could roll :rollin: w/ that! :40beers: :summer:

Forget Carolina; doesn't have the technical content at her age! I'm still shocked they elevated her to 4th at the GP Final with all the mistakes and lack of 3/3 combo! Even with this new scoring since '06, figure skating is still one of the shadiest sports in the history of competition! It's so subjective, crooked judges can always justify their thinking! :COP: :kickass: :puppet:

Kostner finished 4th not 3rd at the GPF.

I'm exhausted from Japanese and Russian nationals, and soon I will die from the American. I can't watch, I'm too nervous. Thank heavens it's in the middle of the night.

As for the two competitions that already took place...I must focus on the positive. Dima got a medal and made the Euro team!! :respec::gallopin1
Sakamoto is going to Korea! Cutie Tanaka is going to Korea.
As for the rest...we will stay strong! There is always Senior B!!
There is always Nordics!!

Merry Christmas all at Team Trainwreck, it's been a pleasure! Can't wait for rest of the season!
:glamor::watch::40beers::gallopin1

And that's what we love about #TTW. There's always Senior B. :respec:
