Park update: 7th (55,24pts) after the SP: 3s-3t fall, 3lo, 2a
Good news: 4 of the top 7 are not age-eligible
Bade news: She has still 2 girls ahead of her who already lead her in the race and the points gap to the other girls (who lead her in the race but are behind her at this event) is not very big :drama:

Fight girl!
Until the bitter end! Fight!

FIGHT! I need her at Olympics. Like really need her. :drama: :kickass:

So I had a really dumb thought, if Russia is banned from the Olympics, does this mean we will get Galustyan at the Olympics then? Is that a fair-trade off? ::COP:

I too, but I guess the race is over.
She came in 3rd of the senior ladies (7th overall, 162,58pts).
She has beaten Choi in the FS, but Choi and Kim have beaten her again, so the margin seems way too high to catch up at nationals :(

At least she made the 4CC's team.
Oh boy. This is the first hard hit this season for me. :drama::wuzrobbed

Fight girl, fight!

Watching the junior GPF is going to kill me. And, except for pairs, it's likely better than the seniors, but the time in Japan and the eastern US are not compatible. I'm hoping the Olympic channel is broadcasting.

Karly loses to McKay at British Nationals by 2 points :fragile:

Excuse me, I need to change my avatar yet again to cope with this crisis. :drama:

It was reported after Nebelhorn that Galustyan had decided to train and not compete for the rest of the season.

BUT if an Olympics spot suddenly opens up, Armenia is next in line, don't you think she would dust off her COTN CD and make a grand comeback?

I think Galustyan took the very realistic chance that a spot would open up for Armenia into consideration when she made her decision. The announcement came so early in the season that I think she was being highly strategic and thinking about next season and beyond. She is only eighteen.

As it is, I would be quite surprised if spots opened up because Russia was banned. I think it's much more likely that, in Singles at least, Russian skaters will be competing as Authorised Neutral Athletes.

OTOH, if a spot opened up for Armenia at the Olympics, it would be nice if she did compete.

Fine. I'll just listen to COTN on repeat then. :drama:

And of course, I'm REALLY want Russian skaters to go to the Olympics. Don't forget about Perkova's #missionmercedes2018! :kickass:

I don't really care for Park (im more saddened by Nahyun dismal results) but im surprised she's so far from the spot. Both Choi and Hanul have huge leads and only need to step on the ice at nationals.

If only You, Ye-Lin and Eunsoo were elegible. That trio is fantastic.

Insensitive as ever :drama:

Speaking of Park, after her ankle injury, it was obvious that she could not be ready in July, the date of the 1st ranking competition. She came closer this time, but as you mentioned, the train to olympics passed her station :drama:

Nahyun has a tragic career turn around too. I can recall she was injured too, but even her presentation seems kinda, ehm, not my type again.

Side note: Park is -21,62pts to the olympic spot :drama:

KSU have such a stupid system for selecting the team. If a skater misses any of the ranking events, even if they are injured, they are out. So skaters compete with injuries, risking making it worse, instead of properly recovering. I'm so upset for Park, she was wonderful at her last GP before she got injured, and because of this system she didn't get the time to properly recover and prepare to fight for the Olympic spot.

Oh Park:( Lots of heartbreak this season, lots of heartbreak. And we're not even past GP-final. I fully suspect Russia being banned from the Olympics simultaneously with Voronov qualifying, I fear Adam bombing Nationals only to see Mr. Velvetpants going to Korea instead of him, and Fentz' suffering the same destiny, loosing to a guy who can't land a 3axel to save his life, and doesn't attempt a quad. Sorry Peter. (Fentz is turning into my heartbreak, is that ok?) Of course, Anne-Line already bombed at Nebelhorn, @alchemy void will never see COTN again, Pogo is nowhere to be seen, Smirnov is back at Instagram posting about "hard times" and "making playlists", but no skating, Zach D. wins PSOTY (but watch us march against), Pooh is injured, cutie Mura can't even fit into his clothes these days, Joshi retired, Kötting is out, Matilda's jumps has gone MIA, and the short dance is still latin. But there's always something to live for. Bychenko accepted my IG-request.

I guess they are hellbent on sabotaging their skaters :slinkaway They should have boycotted this idiotic series of competition. International results + Nationals should only count. Da-bin Choi supposedly withdrew from her 2nd GP to return in time for her local event  Counter-productive.

To be fair with KOR fed, the system where different local competitions were used to select different internationals (4CC/Worlds, etc) was apllied back in the days were non korean skaters (besides Yuna) were getting any international invitations. That way the skaters had at least 2-3 big competitions during the season. And at least their olympic qualification method is a cut and dry sum of points instead of messy criteria like JPN. As for only internationals + nationals that would mean a serious advantage towards GP skaters. Not sure I'd like that.

That said, there should be a solution for injured skaters that missed one of the local events. Perhaps a bye like US gives. Im sure So-Youn would have used that having a much bigger body of work than Ha-Nul.

Dannyboy singing in his latest vlog
https://youtu.be/evVsMLBpMc0?t=6m57s

Side note: his singing talents are followed by his epic 2 splats. And seriously, that first one looked so much harder and worse, a real MESS-winning-candidate, but after the drama of the 2nd fall, I guess fall#1 stands no chance here. Take a look at the woman in the background with the grey sweater, she is awesome and screaming. Lovely shot.
