She better grab her chance while she can given the young talent on the rise in Korea. Of course, I think that's the way of it for every athlete. This notion that X can wait their turn is ridiculous. There may not be another turn. Do it now, not tomorrow.

Based on Japanese criteria, Sakamoto has to win nationals to get the nod. So does Miahara. If either Higuchi or Miyahara win, the other goes. I don't know if that will encourage or discourage everybody else.
I think your calculation misses one point.
In a scenario like...
1) Higuchi (or Miyahara)
2) Mihara
3) Sakamoto
...Miyahara (or Higuchi) would be left home .
(I assume both get GPF due to Med injury and calculate with that)

So for all besides them:
- win nationals, or get one of higuchi/miyahara off the podium.

Honestly speaking, I know the best thing I can do in my life is to skate and bring joy to the audience. And I'm enjoying skating right now. I love to feel people's support, their ovation. It is important for me to feel that I am not forgotten, and it motivates me.

Awwwwwwww Perkova, this makes me smile.

Although now I do feel slightly bad for changing my avatar to Derbina, but I just needed to switch it up a bit.

I hope Leonova’s new found consistency (two clean competitions in a row!) will help her to loosen up a little bit more in the LP—I need more intense Bollywood face, just not during the footwork sequence! I’m glad she’s motivated and hope to see her on the Grand Prix next season (Challenger Series at a minimum).

Slay Park :kickass:
Or don't slay but just go and get that spot :saint:

How much our first-minute-members are still on the team though ?

I think Mura should get to join when he is inevitably left off the Olympic team in favor of Tanaka, who is quite a :gallopin1 himself. I still feel like he should be on the team anyways, because of multiple :gallopin1-deluxe skates, that monstrosity of a mole on his eyebrow, and his affinity for feathers :drama:. But alas rules.

On the other hand I will be happy if Tanaka makes it to the Olympics because at this point he deserves it (I am a fan and although bossman is not, even he can agree with it). Murakami i is injured and Mura’s TES isn’t stacking up to even the ladies these days.

So, what are the prospects for a Russian Olympic Team of Leonova, Pogorilaya, and Sakhanovich?
:fan: :watch: :gallopin1

Only a plane crash of 1961 proportions with Eteri and Buyanova's team on it would make that team possible and we DO NOT want that.

Doesn't the winner automatically go, then they default to the GPF and so on? So, if either Higuchi or Miyahara win, they're in. Since the other will be the only GPF entry (I agree that Med might WD if her foot is still in a cast) then the other of the two goes. Or am I totally wrong on the Japanese rules? Which is extremely possible.

We don't need a plane crash -- Heaven forbid! All we need is a (figurative) trainwreck!

Either that or those three need to skate their best and the judging needs to be fair. :saint: :gallopin1
