Take a look at this summary in the USFS International Assignments thread: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...tional-assignments.111847/page-4#post-6653488
To add onto that post I made over there, Sophie did not post her NQS score until well after the first three JGPs were assigned to the top 3 women from Jr Cup, so she had some work to do to earn this opportunity. She did the work and posted a nice NQS score, but she wasn't earning 60+ SP scores during July & August.

Same goes for Mia, to be honest - apart from her NQS score, which came after those first three JGPs were assigned, and seeing that it was a Sr domestic score and she's never scored anywhere close to that internationally, she wasn't going to be prioritized for an assignment unless the other girls failed to medal.

Why did the USFSA wait to the very end of the series to send in the two skaters who have triple axles, triple axle combos and quadruple jumps?
Mia has had many chances on the JGP and has yet to get a medal and has a lot of weaknesses other then the jumps that haven't gotten much better. ironically her quad jumps seem to be better then her regular triples.

Not to make a big stink out of it, so have Cleo and Logan and Annika and no 🎖️
No, actually. You are quite wrong.

Annika - JGP Bangkok 2023, JGP Riga 2024
Logan - JGP Gdansk 2022, JGP Bangkok 2024
Cleo - JGP Gdansk 2024

Sooooooooo... Annika had one JGP prior to this season where she finished 5th, Logan had one JGP prior to this season where she finished 15th, and Cleo never had a JGP before this season.

Now, Sophie and Mia on the other hand...

Sophie had 2 JGPs in 2022 when she was representing Switzerland - she finished 25th at JGP Riga & 23rd at JGP Baltic Cup.

And then there's Mia...
JGP Kosice 2021 - 7th
JGP Baltic Cup 2021 - 6th
JGP Ostrava 2022 - 4th
JGP Baltic Cup 2022 - 4th
JGP Osaka 2023 - 8th

Your argument falls apart when the facts show that Sophie has had as many previous JGP assignments as Annika, Logan & Cleo combined; and it's stomped to shreds when the facts show that Mia has had 2.5 times the # of previous JGP assignments as Annika, Logan & Cleo combined.

Maybe you should have picked on Josephine - she's had 4 JGP assignments prior to this season and never medaled at any of them. But, then again, Josephine did outscore Mia by 20+ points at Jr Cup and she is the reigning SENIOR silver medalist, so you probably know that snarking on her assignment wasn't going to fly either as she isn't age-eligible for anything but junior internationals and does deserve something for the trouble of that Nats 2nd place.

Is Sophie eligible for the Olympics? Why did she change from Switzerland to USA where the pool of skaters is so much larger?

I doubt she is eligible for the Olympics for the US if she was still skating for Switzerland in 2022 plus she's about 9 months to young for Milan.

Probably a funding issue. USFS can't fully fund skaters, but they do have a lot of money to throw around compared to the Swiss federation. In addition, some USFS clubs provide additional funding to their skaters (you'll notice some clubs have a lot of elite skaters who don't train there - these are ones they fund) - which may not be a thing in Switzerland.

Change of direction.. I’m looking forward to seeing Bradie free program tomorrow. And then she has to report to skate America in a couple of weeks. Exciting.

Looking at the roster I definitely think that Elice and Isabeau could be in the podium

I’m starting to wonder if nothing is going to open up in Canada, France or China to give Elice or Sarah an additional spot.

Interesting Amber is the sole American at both of her assignments.

Don't stress too much over that.

SCI entries yet to compete internationally this fall who are not entered in Budapest Trophy, Trophee Metropole Nice or Tayside Trophy - Nella Pelkonen & Yelim Kim (Matsuike has competed domestically in Japan)

GPdF entry yet to compete internationally this fall who are not entered in Budapest Trophy, Trophee Metropole Nice, Tayside Trophy, or Nepela Memorial - Nina Pinzarrone (Sumiyoshi, Mihara & Higuchi have competed domestically in Japan)

CoC entry yet to compete internationally this fall who are not entered in Budapest Trophy, Trophee Metropole Nice, Tayside Trophy, or Nepela Memorial - Minchae Kim (Sumiyoshi has competed domestically in Japan)

We'll just have to sit tight and see what happens.

So you’re telling us that the most successful junior lady skating for the U.S. is Swiss? Sounds about right.

Is Sophie eligible for the Olympics? Why did she change from Switzerland to USA where the pool of skaters is so much larger?

I didn't realize Von Felten was Swiss. (I did see the place of birth, but plenty of US skaters have been born abroad for different reasons.) What's the back story here? And is she a US citizen?

Yes, if skaters like Sarah and Elice and Sherry are on the senior scene for a while, and then upcoming Sophie and Mia and see who else develops.
What’s the status of Ava Ziegler? I don’t want her to get lost in the shuffle.

On your earlier Q: Here’s the film of Starr Andrews’ Denis Ten SP. Starr is in 6th place and scored 59.10.

Results of SPs at Denis Ten can only be seen by reading the start order for the FP:
