Yes, must have been!I'm glad we got a shot of her hearing that she won (at least I assume that was what the jumping up and down was about!).
I thought that as well, especially after watching her interview. Is it my imagination or does she look like Kimmie Meissner's twin?
She has a clear outside edge and then switched to an inside edge quite obviously. Her toepick goes into the circle (right side). You can see the s shape on both lutz take off. She got lucky not to get an e…I don't know why both Bradie's lutzes (in the long) were called "!" It was a clear back outside edge in both takeoffs.
Being discussed since last night in the "2024-25 USFS International Assignments" thread. Starting here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...tional-assignments.111847/page-4#post-6657596Sophie Joline Von Felten replaces Mia Kalin at JGP Wuxi!
Thank youSkylar will turn 12 in December, so no.
Not likely. I highly doubt the USFS will switch Mia out for Sophie since they've already published the assignments on their website. Also, it's not easy to get visas for China with this short of a turnaround.
She may have had the hardware removed after the healing was finished, given that she was off the ice for 5 months. Usually it's at least a few months after the bone fully heals....at her age and activity level, i would expect her to get it removed at some point. Range of motion improves but depending on the exact injury, it might not get back to 100%.From the way Bradie describes it, I'm guessing she has hardware; screws and maybe a plate to stabilize the ankle. They do make the ankle strong but flexibility is hard to get back as well as balance. Just guessing as one who is also a member of the ankle plate and screws club.
Agreed. It depends on her surgeon. I think I'm right when I say that it's usually a year or so before hardware is removed, but it may be different with her being an athlete. I'm not sure I would have the confidence to land triple jumps with that kind of force, without the plate at this point - but I'm old. It's up to her - it's such an individual thing. She may have had the hardware removed after the healing was finished, given that she was off the ice for 5 months. I seem to remember after Kaetlyn Osmond broke her fibula (it was down very low near the ankle), she initially had hardware put in. During her process of getting back to training, she had a second surgery to remove it because she said her foot just never felt right in her skate with the hardware. Things were pushing where they shouldn’t be, and just all around uncomfortable and even painful. So, agreed I wouldn’t be surprised if Bradie has had hers removed at some point either. Skaters are highly attuned to how their feet feel in their skates, and something as small as the type of sock you’re wearing can make you feel weird. I can’t even imagine the potential discomfort that hardware in the ankle could cause. She may have had the hardware removed after the healing was finished, given that she was off the ice for 5 months. I wonder sometimes how athletes endure all these injuries and continue. I think Bradie`s big splash at nationals was a year later than expected. She had a serious back injury that I think kept her tamped down for a season. Love it and she looks really good for her first international back. I wonder how she’ll do in the free. And Alysa has put her name in the mix, most assuredly.
Her SP from just now -
Her work with Scali has really paid off. And I’m with Tony - looking forward to the free!Really think Alysa's skating especially presentation and flow has improved a lot. I enjoyed that.
I am not a purist. But whatever calling they get at worlds they better get it here for feedbackJump purists around here will be happy to learn that both Alysa and Lindsay had the 3T on their combos called q, and Lindsay got a ! on her 3F.
Yet again we coincide. I’ve endured almost 50 years of teasing for loving MacArthur Park.Liu's program was lovely. Much improved in following the pacing of the music as opposed to the barreling through because 'the choreographer told me to' styles we see so much today.
I think she was a little lucky on the jump calls, as to me the flip looked like it took off on a slightly outside edge, and the toe loop was certainly underrotated. I said it 3-4 years ago and I think the same stays true here - she really, really twists herself up into the toe loop like Wagner did throughout her career, and it always comes down high on the toe pick and early.
But that aside, I'm excited to see her free. MacArthur Park is one of my favorites and I want to see the full free skate rather than the bit we saw earlier this season.
