Oh My Godddddd

Wowwwwwwwww

Amber did it, all day yesterday I kept thinking I think she’s gonna win the short program even over Kaori, but I don’t know about the free

Oh my gosh, can you please send me a video or some faxes or even a Valuim.

I’m so ecstatic, I just woke up and checked the scores, oh my gosh. How thrilling.

Great start for Amber in the Short. I have never seen her skate with more speed and attack (and confidence). She was even faster than Kaori! If she can hold it together and ALSO skate a clean Long, I will sniff my smelling salts (and jump for joy)!

Sarah Everhardt Lombardia 2024 SP:

I love Sarah Everhardt's Riverdance Short. I think it's the perfect music choice for her. Wishing her good luck in the Free!

MY GOODNESSSSSS

Amber’s short program just magical and she ended on “your dismissed” just as I was hoping she would.

I have never seen her looks so beautiful as this, so much power, and is this choreographed by Kaitlin….. major major major props to the choreography. And I think this dress is my favorite thing she’s ever worn.

I don’t understand …. this short program should be in the very high 70s like 79 points. That was fantastic.

Confidence right from the get-go. And her speed I think she’s faster now than Kaori.

She'll crash and burn in the free as usual. I would be happy if she didn't but....

Sooooo, no medal for Logan in Bangkok. Are we thinking that Mia will get a JGP assignment after all? I suppose it's, theoretically, possible that Emilia and Cleo could medal at their JGPs in Turkey & Poland, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.

Mia is my best guess for the next available spot. If China logistics are tricky, I could see Mia getting Wuxi now, with Slovenia open if Emilia medals next weekend (probably not super likely) or else the next person on the list.

That's my thought process as well. Mia for China and then Slovenia for either Emilia or Cleo should one of them medal - which I think is highly unlikely. I guess the only question then becomes who gets Slovenia on VERY short notice if neither Emilia nor Cleo medals. Of course, that also begs the question of who would even be in the mix for that spot since Keira has an ankle injury right now. Maybe Sophie?

I would say Sophie or maybe Sofia Bezkorovainaya (4th in Cranberry, 6th at junior team cup, beating Sophie on both occasions).

Yeah, she was my other option. Sophie is attempting the 3a but it's been hit-or-miss so far. She does have one really nice NQS score though.

What has happened to US Junior ladies lately i mean they continue with their mediocre results. How long since they last won a medal even China who hasn't done anything in ladies skating for over two decades seems to be doing better and even European countries not considered a power are getting their skaters on the podium. Whatever the USFS is doing is not working. As for the Senior ladies Sarah has good speed and nice jumps i'm wondering why she doesn't do a harder combo then a 3t+3t. With Alysa and Bradie coming back and Sarah rising and Elyce improving and Ava hopefully healthy by the time of Nationals the ladies event at Nationals is going to be brutal.

They won 2 medals last season (Elyce and Sherry in Armenia), but I agree that this season's results are not encouraging.

Elyce got Skate America and how has a bye to nationals (2 challengers + 1 GP)

Hoping both she and Sarah pick up second assignments when the inevitable withdrawals happen

Does angers have another French woman with the technical qualifications? If not, I hope Sarah can go there.
Host spots are not bound by the GP Min Score requirement. Last season the FFSG assigned Mazzara who scored her SB in the SP at GPdF with 45.03. Today she scored 44.56 in the SP at Lombardia, so my bet is that if she hits the GP Min Score of 133.77 or come close to it tomorrow then she'll get the Host spot.

I was surprised to see Jia Shin do a back spiral into a triple lutz in her long in Bangkok. It's an extremely difficult entry into a lutz (Jia fell on it) and the only skater that I have seen have success with this entrance was Sarah Hughes.

There is a section that I love in Sarah Everhardt's (Riverdance) SP, where she lands a 2-axel and then goes right into a back spiral position (it's like a jump/spiral combo). That's difficult too!

Gracie used to do this entry with a short spiral into her second lutz in her firebird program (maybe other programs too but that’s the one that sticks out on my mind).

I have no memory of Sarah Hughes doing that. She was always cross crossing and doing small turns into hers from what I remember.
