U.S. Ice Dance 2021-22 season news & updates

Associated Press' Barry Wilner wrote an article based on the pre-Nationals media calls of Hubbell/Donohue & Chock/Bates:

Fan Zone article on the Junior team of Helena Carhart and Volodymyr Horovyi (had 2nd highest total qualifying score in the Championship Series):

I loved watching the Novice dancers so it was great to read about them. I look forward to seeing them all keep improving and growing in the future!

Wow, that's disturbing to say the least. Hopefully the police also find it disturbing enough to seek a warrant (or whatever may be necessary) to get as much information as possible on his whereabouts.

The tweet makes it sound as if he has no cell phone, which sounds odd in and of itself with him training so far from home. Hopefully this young man is not in physical danger.

"Tsarevski grew up in the Denver area. His father immigrated to the United States from the Kyiv region of Ukraine, where he was a collegiate athlete." From this Fan Zone article dated 8/23/2021:

Isabelle Flores' Instagram story was really disturbing to read. :( I hope her partner will turn up soon, safe and unharmed.

Dimitry Tsarevski was born in Denver, Colorado. His father, a former Soviet Union cross country skiing coach, took him to many public skating sessions and taught him how to skate fast like a hockey player.
“My skating started with hockey,” Tsarevski said. “At age seven I began figure skating to improve my hockey skills. Two years later I had landed my axel and was competing. By the time I was twelve, I had most of my doubles.”
He then decided to concentrate on hockey until a week after his thirteenth birthday, when he got a call from an ice dancer’s mom for a tryout. He fell in love with ice dance and began training with Elena Dostatni’s team.

I hope to God they haven't hurt him. What do you mean get a warrant? To see if an 18 yr old who has been missing from work is okay? Oh my word. Praying.

This is so shocking and frightening. Praying it will be resolved peacefully and that Dimitry is safe and sound!

On top of which, given the awful situation with the wildfires, it will be hard to get police or media attention right now. This is very scary.

Also the Lakewood mass shooting that happened earlier this week, stressed the police force too. The police probably don't have extra resources at the moment

Pure speculation:
Parents might be religious ultra-conservatives? I’ve seen similar things happen in Russian-American families.

Isabella and Dimitri were performing in Eddie Shipstad’s shows in Vail up until at least Christmas Eve. So whatever has happened is very recent.

I’m not sure, but almost positive, that Isabella’s mother speaks Russian. Their coach is also Russian, so it’s not like there has been a communication problem between the families.

I sure hope that we will hear something soon, to know that he is safe and well.
