The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

One thing I found odd at worlds: Tanith commentated instead of being with Green and Parsons. Yes, Guerlein is perfectly competent, but I found it odd. Unless she was commentating from the U.S. and needed to be home near the kids?? Or needed the $$??

The NBC commentators weren’t in Prague. Only Andrea Joyce was on site for interviews.

As others have said, she stayed in the US. Tracy Wilson probably declined doing Worlds, and since it really was a one-day gig, the money was probably worth it.

Parsons and Green have plenty of experience, so Guerlein with them was just fine. And Tanith may have signed the contract before they knew Chock/Nates weren’t going to Worlds.

Yes, but wasn't he at WISA for a few years following that? And didn't he and Green and Parsons all go to Michigan together?
Greg was at WISA for one season, 2018-2019 and then went back to MI. About a year later (during Covid), the WISA coaches split, with Novak/Kiliakov taking some students (including Green/P) to a different rink in VA....VA rinks reopening sooner than the rinks in their county in MD may have had something to do with that move....and some other teams (including Bratti/Somerville) staying with Dmitri Ilin at the rink in MD.

Greg and Dmitri seemed to be coaching together for another year or so...Greg doing the teams' choreo. IIRC, B/S were splitting their time between both places. Then when MIDA launched, B/S made a full-time move and then ultimately Green/P left Kiliakov/Novak and moved there.

I think Greg has continued to do choreo for some of Dmitri's students, including Ilin/Cain, who just split.

Thank you!

We should start thinking about next season's dance thread title. Preferably something with "waltz" in it.
