I think it'll likely work out well. They generally seem good with small fed teams and take them up the ranks. They've got real potential. The only teams I'm unsure if they do well there are S/F, who have left, and H/B- both 3-4 in their country with a couple of the others there too.
I get the frustration over so many being there, but I think they're great coaching team with generally good programs (obviously there are exceptions, but that's the same with any coach/choreographer). There seems to be a healthy environment and all the teams there seem happy. And their dominance isn't going to last forever- potentially not even until 2026.

I understand the concerns about the size of the group, in the 90s and early 00s Linichuk seemed to be with every team it did seem to stifle competition and creativity. The situation with IAM seems different as the teams seem to push each other on and the overall quality improves year on year.

Posted in late June:
Francesca Righi/Aleksei Dubrovin (they competed 3 junior national & international seasons for Italy: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00104028.htm ) have split, according to Francesca's Instagram post - in both Italian & English - yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/CB3CvQZJkiT/
Chiara Calderone, 21 (placed 8th with Pietro Papetti at 2019 CS Lombardia Trophy) and Aleksei Dubrovin, 22 in Sept. (4th in Junior at 2020 Egna Dance Trophy with Francesca Righi), are a new ice dance team: https://twitter.com/AnythingGOE/status/1283911251073159168

Italian ice dance really needs one of the younger teams to find another gear. They’ve had an impressive run of top-level teams in the past few decades, and there’s a few years until Guignard/Fabbri bow out, but none of the teams below them at present gives the impression of being future stars.

I was impressed with Chiara Calderone at the one event I saw her at this season. (Lombardia, I think?) She has nice knee bend and Fusar-Poli like expression and performance. Papetti seems like a solid partner so I have hopes for them.

edit: OMG I completely missed the post above yours that said they split! :slinkaway Well, I guess I guess I'll have to see how Calderone and he new partner do.

Charlène and Marco said in this interview that they intend to continue until Beijing 2022 (and Worlds 2022) and then will most likely retire, so hopefully some of the younger teams will start to show improvements and be ready to take Italian ice dance forwards after that.
