It is. "Get Ready for This" is very often played at sporting events in the US (and presumably Canada), like during starting lineups when the players are introduced, while the "Ole Ole Ole" song is associated internationally with both soccer/football and hockey. They've said they want to focus on the sport aspect of skating with the program. To me it sort of feels like they were invited to do a hype-up performance at a hockey game, which may be entirely what they were going for.

Thanks, I remeber actually hearing 'Get Ready for this' in some hockey games etc from North America. I just mostly remember it from 2 Unlimited cassette I bought in my youth
The program has a really nice idea, but somehow it falls short for me.

In general I expected lot more Eurodance for this season. There are not even any Prodigy programs I think?? Raves were big thing in the 90s. And no Ace of Base, though perhaps that one is not viewed sufficiently 'high energy'. I was especially disappointed that Reitan/Majorov didn't choose any of the gazillion Swedish Eurodance acts. Where's their patriotism?

Exactly what I was thinking. None of the music I listened to in the nineties is used for RD. No Massive Attack, Tricky, Prodigy.
No techno at all. It was the sound of the decade. There was just such variety in techno. I've lived for decades in Berlin and in the 90ies half the world came for the love parade, even quite a few when it was still small in Kreuzberg

For me (as I've probably written in this thread?) it's the lack of Brit pop, which was huge for a few years there and can be a lot of fun. Europop is also sadly lacking. And if everyone wanted to do Latin, why not Shakira?

Wow. I cannot remember so well, but I think it was seeing Oksana Bauil for the first time in what, 1994. Imprinted in my mind. Artistry through the roof. She has had her struggles, but she is a gem, if only.

Sarajevo, but I don't think I watched figure skating then. I do remember seeing Katarina Witt in 1988, and the media fuss around her in both games. Didn't really get it then...

Kristi 1992. I tried to recreate the bangs but my little kid hair was way too fine and straight. I could probably do it now.

I remember the dance and ladies free skates in Albertville, as well as the gala. Klimova and Ponomareno, Usova and Zhulin, and the final group of ladies all stuck in my memory. As well as Brausseur & Eisler's exhibition, though that because it freaked me out

Loved Carreira & Ponomarenko. Great to see them skate to their potential, and there is still margin for improvement. Good job.
