In the past, when foreign skaters acquired German citizenship, they all had to establish residency in Germany in addition to pass the German language test and citizenship test. This makes me wonder how both Sara and Grigorii want to manage to do that while training abroad. The other issue is that besides Sinicyn, Germany doesn't really have any decent ice dance coaches. At least not on the level G/R and K/S will need once they enter the Senior ranks. There is Caruso in Berlin, who coaches mostly Juniors and Vitali Schulz in Dortmund. There maybe others, but I think those are the schools that coach most of the German dance teams.Circling back around to Kishimoto/Savitskiy (Kiskiy?) -- I guess they're at IAM, since Sara was already there and they're training in Canada. I hope they get really good programs. Also, what are the German citizenship requirements? I assume they'll have to spend some time in Germany for Sara to get hers?
While I'm glad both Darya and Michail have found new partners, they are now on a more difficult path, at least regarding the Olympics.
