This is my first recap - be gentle. Or not. Too wordy me thinks.

Pairs - feed froze for Canada M/F and MT/M.
J/B - impressive she’s still going. But at what point is it going to be too much? Kudos for sticking it out.
J/R - I want to like them more than their short allows. With that PSC, it shows they will be regarded if they skate clean.
P/K - luv how tiny and powerful she is. He’s developing nicely as well. Fun program. Shame about the fluke fall. Luv the twist exit and transition. Wouldn’t hate it if they bumped B/K off.
H/S - they are my spoiler team. Hope they keep improving through the next quad. Loved them since their say something program. They are great just need to break through with some bigger elements/skating.
C/L - I ubered them too early and jinxed them. I appreciate their long lines and commitment to the program. I need to give up hope she’ll land the jumps. I really really want to root for them. So please make me eat my words about the jumps (and throws). I think the white top and black pants really break up his lovely long legs.
MT/M - froze.
S/H - stream kept skipping so I gave up.

As usual buddy boy I agree with just about everything you put down there…

Skate Canada usually produces decent crowds. I know you were at skate America but I’m gonna say skate America had three times the crowd… What do you think??

Orzel - nice quad. Only a 2t combo. I like his skating but tired of who wants to live forever - apparently this song does. Lose the gloves please.
Yamamoto - nice costume. Miss seeing higuchi in the KnC. Shame about the axel.
RomCom-Sky - pretty top. Nice pants. Shame about the axel and combo. This program needs to be clean in order to sing unfortunately.
Makar - Bada$$ 4loop in the short. So gutsy. Gorgeous combo. More GOE on it. Axel hangs on. Traveled back to Russia on that sitspin. He could be skating to any piece of music / but still a nice short! Bonus points for belly spin.
Tomoki - the standards = hyper flexible and sloppy jumps. He’s a fun performer just needs to grow more. Fun steps and in between tricks. No combo ouch.
Tanaka - this would be a fun Halloween outfit. I like the purple and green accents. Got the Sal but not the axel. Eek. Frantic music that builds but never goes anywhere.
Semenenko - great haircut. Nice shirt with fun sparkle lines. Yay combo. Boo solo jump. He’s grown and you can see him working on the artistry. Solid 3A. Fun positions on the sit spin. I’ve noticed low GOE on spins across the board this season. Conversely lots of L4 steps already. Especially at SKAM men’s short/ladies.
Van Hostage - who from FSU gave him that too with the see through sleeves? Great combo. Yikes solo jump. There’s a pattern here. Ran out of room for the 3A. Step sequence needs more music in the first 3/4. Give me full on beats from start to finish. Combo spin and music highlights slowness. Not a strong finish. Best thing was seeing Sveta’s tan and pink coat in the KnC.
Morisi - did Eteri sacrifice your quads and 3a for one of her students? Good save on the quad and combo - that’s how you tack on a 2t to avoid losing points! lv4 steps! Can he skate to an emo version of Midnight Train to Georgia please?

Ok. Who will save the men’s short from being a mostly dumpster fire like SKAM?
Keegan - sucker for INXS. But maybe not go so literal with the X on the shirt. Eh. On second thought I like it. Lovely quad/triple combo. Good save on the 3A. Huge lutz.
DTJB - ok. Who cares about quads after that awesome performance after the mostly average SP so far? The speed. The light airy jumps. The spins. That program sings! It zips by. I’ve not always been a fan, but that program makes me appreciate all that he offers in skating.
Nathan - a bit flat landing the 4Lutz. Redemption from SA. Nice 3A!!! On second viewing this season. I kinda like how the first song builds into nemesis. I know it’s not a popular opinion. I do think it’s more of an exclamation point/tacked on than a blend of songs…but it works. It’ll get the job done.

Quick hits from the R/D

Sales/Wamsteeker - if you do Billie Eilish, you have to go all in. Although I’m looking forward to their Dua Lipa FD.

Shanaeva/Narzhnyy - makes me miss legs and puppy.

Carreira/Ponomarenko - bat dance is a guilty pleasure song. Thrilled it made its way into ice dance. Get those levels kids!!!

Davis/Smolkin - more interesting than the top RUS team. Prob the most entertaining and committed hip hop style. Loved it!

L/L - um. Costumes? Why? Wasn’t a horrible dance. Wasn’t great either.

Fear/Gibson - I like them as performers. Not so much as a top flight ID team. Scoring is more accurate now.

Green/parsons - really enjoy them as dancers. Hope this boosts their confidence more. They are small but learning to skate big!

Smart/Diaz - her hair reminds me of Anna Farris from the Mom show. Luv Tina and luv this dance.

Italians - I want more from them. I liked Weaver Poje’s MJ better. Was hoping they’d really break out with a stellar RD

G/P - very fun R/D! Costumes are great. Maybe too great, ANL? Nah. Gonna be tight at the top this year.

Men SP

Corzel - I remembered him more artistic or perhpas he's now too concentrated on the quads. The generic program didnt help either.
Yamamoto - His IN skills melt me... he even made me care for Yesterday.. Damn mistake on the axel.
Sadovsky - That combo mistake seems pure headcase-ness. Definetly a CAN staminaboy, he was breathing heavily behind the mask.
Ignatov - Awesome music choice, awesome jumps, I need a better finishing pose but this was gooood.
Hiwatashi - That's some flexibility, but he's too frantic.
Tanaka - Ehhh interesting music choice, loved the steps, I would have put him behind Yoma though.
Semenenko - Great intensity. The russian boys battle while not as showy as the girls is gonna be just as intense.
Samarin - ONly boss can like this old fashioned Joubert-lite crap. Should be waaay below the 2 japanese.
Kvitelashvili - "The imposing figure of Morisi??" LMAO, where's Hanretty, please?.. Eurovisiong song! It was your tipical mediocre Morisi showing. Best part the dead silence in the K&C.
Messing - Who'd knew this guy would become the undisputable CAN #1. One of the best country switching choices ever. The retun of CANflation?
Brown - What else can be said.. I may find him annoying but what he offers to the sport is sublime and most of all, necessary in this quad craz era.
Chen - #TeamVincent

BestDressed - Ignatov
Do Hard - Yamamoto (new crush, bye bye Sorensen)

Karen Chen meets all of the Criteria and has many of the Qualities. I am still not ready to nominate her.

Russian women, check. Russian pair, check. Brand new Russian dance teams, did well considering.

Russian men. Well 2/3 made the final flight so :cheer2:

Dance RD

Sales & Wamsteeker - Not as "host spot" cringy as I expected but still the best thing were his naked arms.
Davis & Smolkin - LOL at the song lyrics "Im so 2008". I thought the same. Tutberiflation.
Shanaeva & Narizhny - Fantastic costumes but why do teams keep going to Svinin/Zhuk camp, they are not known for improving their teams skills and they seriously lack politic power.
Carreira & Ponomarenko - If you are going to do Batman & Catwoman I need commitment in the hair just like The Dick. But at least they weren't as dry paint dull as before.
Green & Parsons - Soo smoooth and deserved lead but other than the steps, borderline generic. Their FD is the gem.
Lajoie & Lagha - Awful costumes and High school musical worthy song choice. It was good but also Good judging they dropped.
Smart & Diaz - Damn, I really want Sara&Kirill at the olys but I can't deny these two have the best set of programs. They are on the rise .
Fear & Gibson - Charisma only gets you so far, other than the final 20 seconds could be skating to anything.
Guignard & Fabbri - Come On, We know MIchael Jackson has a great catalogue but just pick one damn song!! Fun but a bit too old fashioned. Those scores scream: "you will stay 2nd tier this year"
Gilles Poirier - My first thought was "only Vice can like those costumes". That aside on this field they felt like in a league of their own.

Best Dressed - Shanaeva & Narizhny
Do Hard - Not usually my type but I'll say Wamsteeker.

Pairs
Matte/Ferland - Bad spins, couldn't see the rest.
Jones/Boyadji - Continuing inspiration, but sadly there's no movie ending at the Olympics for them.
James/Radford - Their sync and vibe are coming together, too bad about the throw. Program still nothing special.
Pavliuchenko/Khodykin - Amazing twist, maybe a few too many cool trick moves.

Hase/Seegert - I've really come to love these two.
Cain-Gribble/LeDuc - The plan to spike Calalang's makeup failed, now they're at the mercy of the judges.
Moore-Towers/Marinaro - Top Canadians (for now)!
Sui/Han - Program looks okay. They got the jumps done!

Men
Orzel - I think they need to get him a hypnotist. He could be really good if he had any confidence in himself.
Yamamoto - High quality Japanese 2A #1.
:gallopin1-Romsky - Just asking to get sideswiped by Chiu or even a comeback Gogolev at this point.
Stamina King - He has the best 4Lo in the sport, somehow. PCS judged reasonably, a rarity.
Hiwatashi - Does all the things (transitions, etc.) that the system notionally rewards, but never gets credit for it. Jumps off.
Tanaka - High quality Japanese 2A #2. Judges show their love even with the mistakes.

Semenenko - without the consistent jumping, not really much there, though I think his presentation is improving.
Van Hostage ( ) - his first error minimized the impact of his second error; that kind of day.
Guy Eteri Lets Hang Around the Rink - surprisingly, she deigned to make an appearance in the KnC today after that poor showing. Program is completely forgettable.
Keegan - this was by far the best performance of this program, which I previously thought mostly lacked engagement with the music.
Tracy's Boy - in top form.
Chen - either do "Nemesis" or do a new program, tacking a bit of it onto the boring "Eternity" section just makes me want to watch the old, better program. But good to see him rally after disappointment; this could have spiraled easily.

Ice dance
Sales/Wamsteeker - I admire these two for their grit in sticking it out despite minimal prospect of further advancement. Program was fine.
Nepo-Squad #2 - score inflation not nearly as bad as their haters feared. Still too high for subjecting us to the Black Eyed Peas, who I thought we'd left safely behind in the mid-2000s.
Shanaeva/Naryzhnyy - I don't think their hip-hop is particularly convincing, but they're clearing having a blast at it.
Catwoman/Batman - this program is badly in need of a camp injection I don't think these two have in them. Also, level disaster, status as the future of US ice dance in grave jeopardy.
Green/Parsons - clearly making moves, though not as far ahead of their age group contemporaries as ACI might have suggested.

Lajoie/Lagha - once I was able to see this program with good camerawork (as opposed to ACI), I've decided it kinda kicks ass. These two are so fun now. Clearly a bit disappointed in current scores, but just wait, the fed is putting all its effort into Piper & Paul right now.
Smart/Diaz - since this is seemingly their last season, nice that they've likely going to get a Grand Prix medal, rather than finish fourth for the fourth straight time. Though that means...
Fear/Gibson - generous in helping out training mates on the verge of retirement. Program is great fun, love the costumes.
Guignard/Fabbri - too bad about her twizzle. I really don't think this program fits them at all.
Gilles/Poirier - all the power of the Canadian fed is behind them now. Ultimate revenge on Donohue is in sight! Program not as fun as costumes prime you for, but it's good.

Women
Mihara - wonderful to see her settling back into international competition.
Schumacher - is clearly running into her technical ceiling, and if even Ghislain can't help, I don't see much of a way forward.
Kawabe - generous to the host country by volunteering to be last.
Bausback - I feel like her performance quality has improved in the last year, but another one it's hard to see going much beyond where she currently is.
Schizas - ouch at warmup fall; made a mistake as a result, but still leads the Canadian women, which kind of says it all.
Higuchi - I was kind of jarred to remember that she's still only 20, she's had so many ups and downs already. Program is boring, jumps are solidifying again.

Lee - stupid flip, you also cost her a JW medal.:wuzrobbed
Valieva - the better of her two programs, and technically a class apart here.
Liu - so fun!
Kostornaia - seems much more engaged with new program, which is an automatic improvement. It may never be 2019-20 again, but even 80% of that is still quite watchable.
Chen - I'd love to get a glimpse of the alternate reality where she had youthful jump training to match her splendid basics and performance quality.
Empress Liza - this is already her best Olympic season, and yet it's still probably not going to be enough. But give 'em hell. PCS is ridiculous, but what else is new?

GP CAN Men SP:

Orzel. Like the simple outfit. Liked him more as a junior. But somehow decent for him.
Yamamoto. One of those with all the potential but... :gallopin1
Romsky. Whatever that hair is. I need the NHT costume back. This felt totally flat. Nice arse.
Ignatov. Hot as ****. That earring does it every single time for me  Totally butchered on PCS :drama: Can't complain too much here though.
Hiwatashi. I just can't connect.
Tanaka. :gallopin1 homage for @SmallFairy
Semenenko. He is not my fav RUS dude but he is so guilty pleasure material, I am rooting all the way!
Samarin. Lost all momentum he somehow had. I blame it all on @rfisher suddenly cheering fo him that old witch :drama: Crazy speed going into 4lz. The 4f did not work before, now the 4t is a total mess. Just go for a huge triple for god's sake. That program is crap. No ****ing way he makes the team, no ****ing way :(
Kvitelashvili. Tragic KnC.
DannyG. Normal hair again. Thanks.
Messing. You can't deny his charisma on ice.
Brown. I just keep my mouth shut about the scores and the non-pushing in the tech department.
Chen. I like the 1st part, going back for old program for steps in olympic season. Meh. Even though he's ****ing hot in it.

Best Dressed: Sokolovskaya.
Do Hard: #teamrussia with guest appearance by Chen

Best quote:
That will be hard to take.

GP CAN RD:

Overall. I can't stand Rhythm Dances this season. So damn annoying.
CAN3. I really have a soft spot for them and am always cheering.
RUS1. Ouch on placement. I think they hoped for more. Smolkin's Nick Carter look and 16yr old beard is killing me  Same with his wannabe gangster posing. No one is buying this shit. (And yeah, usually I like him ?‍♂️)
RUS2. That's how you do it. So into it. He is badass. Freakin' hot. Love their look. Love it. Closer to D/S than expcted.
USA2. Spiderman meets Batman? What is this? Butchered. Ouch.
USA1. Can't connect.
CAN2. Zach is a star. He moves so smooth an gets hotter each year. I am still meh by Lajoie and her constant o-face, but well.
ESP. No words.
GBR. The eyeliner is just too much. No more words.
ITA. No big fan of this program unfortunately. Gap to ESP :yikes:
CAN1. Just too much. Of everything.

Best Dressed: Shanaeva/Naryzhnyy
Do Hard: Naryzhnyy

Ladies SP

Mihara - I'll be the one who says it. She looks way thinner than usual. I missed her and glad to see her doing well again.
Schumacher - Forgettable
Kawabe- Ladies have entered the DO or DIE splat era of single skating. She died.
Bausback - Okish for CAN ladies standard.
Schizas - Same as above.
Higuchi - Beautiful and powerful. I Need to see her on the oly team.
Lee - Meh. #TeamYou
Valieva - That was great. I wish this could be her long program.
Liu - Best Ladies SP of the season so far. This is the first time I think the newly crowned IT US Girl is real stuff and not media hype.
Fallen Angel - A vast imprvement over previous program. But even behind all that makeup and feisty music I could sense some inner sadness, but glad she is taking good comeback steps.
Chen - Fine enough but Moments like this are the ones that make you long for a 4th RUS spot instead of a 3rd US one. Mihara wuzrrobbed.
Empress - Amazing she's keeping up with the tech arsenal of the new generation.

Best Dressed - Valieva
Do Hard - Schizas
