I tried but they wouldn't let me in.why not go in the KnC area where are threads with hundreds of posts about this competition?![]()
I think that's what happened but skaters get docked for time violations all the time. The lowered Muravyevas marks
dont tell me someone complained after in the backdoors![]()
That section requires a subscription. If you want to follow for Europeans and the Olympics, you can get a short term 3 month subscription for not much money.I tried but they wouldn't let me in.

I don’t think they will be giving the third spot out after nationals. I think Sasha v liza will continue to eurosVery good competition. Falls were rare. One each by Liza and Sasha and a young skater IIRC.
The 14 year olds did very well. Most of them had 3Lz3t, 3f and a 2A. There were 3As but Not by a 14 year old, IIRC. Some of the 14 Yo could get ultra jumps in the next two years and become more competitive.
Kamila is just one year older than these 14 yo. Just goes to show how incredibly talented she is. I don't see anyone beating her this year.
Sasha went for the 3A and fell but she is in the final group for the free skate. Judging from her jumps I don't think she is anywhere near 100 percent. Since Liza and Maiia are in the group before hers, I think she may make the team if she does what she did at SA - One quad lutz and the rest triples, landed with determination, like today.
To have Sasha versus Liza skate off would mean that another skater (first or second place finisher) would not have the chance to go to Europeans. I think Valieva would want to go to Europeans because she has never competed at Europeans. The federation would want to send her too, because this would be her first senior international championship - much bigger competition than she has ever attended; it could help her get used to big competitions because she has no experience of skating at such competitions yet. Anna Scherbakova would very likely want to go too, because all she has is a silver medal from two years ago… So there is no easy way to make the skate off at the Europeans if you don’t want to take opportunities from someone who earned it at the nationals. As I see it, instead of the ‘skate off’ in ladies, they could decide that all three ladies need to medal. Whoever doesn’t medal is out of Olympics. If they all medal, they are going to the Olympics.I don’t think they will be giving the third spot out after nationals. I think Sasha v liza will continue to euros
I have read they stated they would also be open to making another skate off like the Liza Evgenia one.To have Sasha versus Liza skate off would mean that another skater (first or second place finisher) would not have the chance to go to Europeans. But I agree that the olympic team will only be confirmed after the Europeans.
Aliona has a broken wrist. She won't be jumping for at least another 2 weeks and that's assuming her wrist is healing nicely and properly. There is no way she will be ready for a skateoff, even the week after Euros.U-Haul Mason come into the eggnog and brandy already but Aliona ain't out of the mix yet!.obviously Sasha and Liza were unimpressive yesterday and if they finish like fourth and fifth among seniors what do they do? Maybe there's a private skate off in 10 days in Moscow. I would not count AK out completely. Especially if Sasha or Liza go to Europeans and pull a Stasya and finished fourth behind one of the Estonian girls or Loena.
Maybe she won't compete until next season. The poor girl is beaten up mentally and physically. It's been a tough couple years for aliona. She look almost unbeatable 2 years agoAliona has a broken wrist. She won't be jumping for at least another 2 weeks and that's assuming her wrist is healing nicely and properly. What if Liza and sasha struggle today and finish behind Maya? Then weve really got a mess.I have read they stated they would also be open to making another skate off like the Liza Evgenia one.
I think it is pretty clear that skate off is not needed. Sasha beat Anna; I don’t think they would take away Sasha’s place at Olympics considering she placed 2nd at the nationals, and I also don’t think they will want to leave Anna off, so it is the first three are going. Even if they confirm it only after the Europeans.Maybe she won't compete until next season. The poor girl is beaten up mentally and physically. It's been a tough couple years for aliona. But what happens today Karen? Who doesn't get to go to euros and will there be a skate off if there's no decisive winner for that 3rd slot for the Olympics?
If sasha finishes 4th and Liza 6th today what happens?
I didn't know that. Thanks.I think it is pretty clear that skate off is not needed. Anna didn't land a quad or didn't hit a quad?If Liza made top 3 there would probably be a skate off but since it's all Eteri girls, no need.that said, maybe if Anna doesn't show a quad AGAIN at Euros...
But IMO Anna made the Olympics when she landed her quad at the Italian GP. She also won worlds without one. So it's pretty much over.
Fell on her quad flip. Didn't do any more.Anna didn't land a quad or didn't hit a quad?
She placed 4th in the LP, and her lead in the SP placed her 3rd.Anna's score was outrageous. I love her but she should have been off the podium
It seems Sasha has her quads back. I am doubtful about Anna's. I am wondering if they may have a skate off later between Anna and Liza To determine the third spot? Sasha is solidly number two now.Anna vs Sasha will have skateoff at Europeans! I now have no idea who would do the LP in the Team Event. I think most assumed Anna would do it, but Sasha did finish 2nd at Nationals. RSF will let the results at Europeans decide who gets to compete in the Team Event.
Is Liza still in it? Unfortunately for her, this is a really solid top 3 for Russia. Trusova has huge scoring potential because she has at least 2 solid quads. Anna usually beats Liza i. head to head competition. I’m so gutted for Liza but this is a solid team. No need to subject them to another skate off.It seems Sasha has her quads back. She should have been placed behind a few other skaters in the LP. Samodelkina and Muravieva's score seemed absurdly small, even though I know Samodelkina's program had a lot of stroking between quads. She placed 4th in the LP, and her lead in the SP placed her 3rd.

Naming Tuktamysheva as the sub, which would be logical since she's next in line, is much different than a skate-off, though.I am not the one who decides it.
Liza had a great skate today. I am happy for her. Anna is the reigning world champion, so I doubt that they will leave her off the team. My only concern is a possible injury, judging from how Anna skated today. I think they need a solid sub, just in case, and that could be Liza.
I think the juniors are incredibly talented but they lack the sophistication of the older skaters. So I don't have a problem with this podium. She should have been placed behind a few other skaters in the LP. Samodelkina and Muravieva's score seemed absurdly small, even though I know Samodelkina's program had a lot of stroking between quads.
IMHO, the only hope Liza has is if Anna were to lose to Loena at Europeans. If so, they might consider sending Liza to the Olympics. The only other thing they might do is have some sort of internal event, but I doubt they'll do that. The Japanese ladies have a 3A same as Tuk, and Higuchi will out score her if both are clean. Team Mishin did not have a good competition and I just don't see why they'd make concessions. Mishin needs to focus his attention on Kolyada. They need him to have a decent score in the TE.But again, what is the purpose of the skate-off? It's not as if this competition was close. Shcherbakova is the reigning World Champion and she easily beat Tuktamysheva here.
If the competition featured a weird result where she couldn't be held up and Tuk snuck in for a medal, then I'd say 100% there would be a skate-off. But the National technical panel and judges had opportunity to not score Shcherbakova with 'clean' jumps that were short, +4 and +5, and 9.75's for PCS, but they did it anyways. And they didn't have to < Tuk's second 3A, but they did.
