Royalty Thread #16: the best of times, the worst of times

I think the color washes her out, and she makes more sense as a brunette. I also think some of the hair looks like extensions.
Now that makes sense. Because it's the lower part that looks fake not the stuff that goes right into her head.

And I see people calling it blonde in some pics. But in other pics, it's just light brown. At least, when my hair darkened to that color, people told me I wasn't a blonde.

I don’t love the colour, but it’s fine and why not try something different? But to me it’s the volume and texture that’s off, it’s just too big and poofy and messy. I guess it makes sense if she has some new extensions … I’ve heard before that she wears them, but I don’t know enough about hair to be able to tell. I have wondered over the last year about her hair and the chemo, I know not all formulations of chemo make you lose your hair, but my husband is currently undergoing a chemo that isn’t supposed to make him lose his hair and his is still thinning and changing (weird spots where there never used to be weird spots, etc). Hers remained so lustrous and thick all along, I wondered if she was using extensions or wigs. (I wouldn’t blame her, honestly, someone who is so judged by her appearance every time she leaves the house.)

I think she looks fine. Her hair is gorgeous in its natural color, but she's been through a lot. Sometimes it's just fun to try something new with your hair when life is tumultuous. I'm not gonna sit here and judge someone who is experimenting, knowing my past. (My poor hair 🤣)

I looks like a questionable wig. I like the theory that her glam budget has been cut down by Charles or William.

The Duchess of Kent has died. She is probably most remembered for comforting the losing Ladies' Finalist and eventual Champion Jana Novotna at Wimbledon.

It's interesting that she used to take public transportation on a regular basis. I remember that Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone used to do so too.

I think the color is hideous on her. I don't think it could be from chemo because she reportedly had that last year & she had her regular hair after that. Unless the brown hair was a wig. But I understand wanting to do something new because when I had my 2nd cancer I went out & got a tattoo. I wonder what her kids think. My mother was a very pretty woman & if she did something that wasn't flattering I wouldn't have liked it.

Not difficult to cover grey hair every 6 weeks when you have the $$, time and access to the best hair stylists in the world.
There comes a time though, when you have darker brown hair, that the grey roots start appearing after about 3 weeks ( if you are lucky) and you start thinking about going a bit lighter so you don't have to make a trip every three weeks. This coming from someone who decided with her hairdresser today to go one tone lighter and start that process :)

Yup. I’m lighter and bronzier than my natural medium brown. So I can go 4-5 weeks between color.

That’s when you use this. :40beers:

I spent 2.5 hours today at the hairdressers getting root touch up and highlights.

I love it but not the price tag.
