New Amazing Race! Hopefully with stubborn animals!

The Dentists definitely do not appeal to the eye physically and *look* like they could be total PITA's, BUT so far they don't seem any more crazy/intense than other top teams, and that was nice that he stopped to help the other teams. I'm not sure even I would have done that, with such a huge prize on the line, but I give him props. Hopefully they keep going in that direction.

I had no idea TAR was starting, and that it would be on Friday. Wheee!!! Thankfully, my DVR picked it up. I confess that I did not finish watching last season. It was the first time I ever felt "meh" about TAR. I'm looking forward to this season with new contestants. My faves so far are the surfers, and I, too was happy to see the realtors out right away.

I'm so glad TAR won't conflict with Dateline!!! (yeah, I'm old.)

I think both dentists look like after pictures on Awful Plastic Surgery :shuffle:.

And I think it's hilarious that people think the dentist was a good guy for helping the others. He only did it because their puny brains were no match for MCAT MAN, able to leap tall dental school admission panels in a single bound! I hope he gets to face-off with a recalcitrant donkey this season.

I don't like it when teams help others because too much of it makes for boring and pointless tasks (and television). At least the dentists didn't sit around and wait for other teams to finish, which has happened entirely too much in recent seasons.

Did I miss something,? I thought that He-Dentist only stopped to help the others with the compass after he'd already dug up his chest and was ready to bail? I remember She-Dentist sniping at him and I shook my head because, even with the help, the other teams wer still going to be behind them, and He-D was probably thinking that it would make him look like a nice guy on TV.

I want to root for the Firefighters because they're from Boston but, Geesh, they come across as dumb. Or at least more muscle than brains. Good riddance to the Realtors - one less whiny blonde team to try to remember.

The way I remember it (but my memory is not what it used to be), the dentist was on his way to dig up his box and stopped midway to tell a couple of people how to use the compass. TAR then cut to him and his wife post-leg, with him saying that he didn't mind helping the other teams because he knew they would win anyway. Then back to the beach, where he promptly dug up his box and ran off with it to the  of several teams.

The realtors' exit interview: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Amazing-Race-Lisa-Michelle-1087703.aspx Some highlights:

What happened with the cab fight? Michael was already in the cab, so you couldn't have gotten that cab anyway unless he got out.
Michelle: We actually got to the cab first, but he pushed us away and got into the cab, and then Scott got there. He closed the door on us, so we had to jump into the next cab.

They said they did that because you ripped the marker out of their hands earlier.
Michelle: If you look at it, we got to the board before them. They grabbed the pen and we grabbed the pen out of their hands because we got their first. It is what it is. Everyone wants to win. We don't regret doing that or anything. If I had to throw them out of a cab, I would've done the same thing.
Lisa: It didn't have anything to do with the marker situation. Whoever got in that third cab would've pretty much been screwed, so we knew we had to get that second cab.

Did you really think the sun sets in the East and rises in the West?
Lisa: No! What they didn't show was that I said it correctly. I grew up on the water in Miami. I know the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. That was when we were figuring out the compass was reversed. We were going back and forth, and I said that about the compass. So yeah, they just showed the part where I said the opposite without context.

Misunderstood victims of editing, the poor things :saint:.

That lady wrestler can take the dentists. She is ripped. I think I'd have done the pancake thing.

I wonder if they'll give Bethany a handicap on things that require two hands? Her husband can't do everything.

Except it's actually hard. But, then I'd slap the guard commander and get hauled off to some British jail.

 Dentist genius was in the wrong end of the boat and they have to do it all over again.
Go surfergirl. Smart move on their part to go for the express pass

OMG  I won't spoil it for anyone who is watching later, but mom and daughter just made me choke on my iced tea laughing.

Aw. The last team had a hard time. Bless them.

Just so you know if we were racing together, I'd be like the mama and tell you I don't care when you started crying and whining. And sheep and mean horses next week. :cheer2:

Animals next week! :cheer:

I am so impressed with how the surfers ran this leg- they were so far ahead that they won easily, even stopping for the Express pass.

I do cry when I get stressed out, but just remind me that my nose swells up and I look hideous and we are on teevee and that should work. Vanity. :glamor:

Also--STUBBORN ANIMALS NEXT WEEK!

Yea, what was up with her? Get in the freaking water and just .... go! And to not draw attention and announce that you gotta go, maybe just accidentally slip and fall in the water. I mean, if you are gonna get your pants wet anyway just slide in the water and go!

Stubborn animals next week! :cheer2: I wonder if any will be broken.

That peeing team should have gone home. I can't believe she just stuck her butt over the edge and peed through her pants.

(((London taxi)))

They were in Oxford so it's more (((Oxford taxi))). ;)

Boston are annoying me with their accents. Hope they go soon. :P

I enjoyed the episode. Love the dentists doing the boat with the wrong ends. hee hee
Mom and daughter - cracked me up. When I was little with my siblings playing outside after dinner - when we went inside to go the to the bathroom my mom would threaten next time you come in, you are in the night and we would reply "When you gotta go, you gotta go". The door slamming got on my mothers nerves.
But the daughters blubbering really turned them against me and I was rooting for the other team, since they were crying less.
Surfers - seem so calm and focused. Hope they continue to do well. Bethany is just such a positive person!

That water did not look all that deep? I swear I saw people standing in it.

They were. But I have never known a nonswimmer who considered anything more than knee height not all that deep.

They looked really insecure on that boat. I don't think they have a lot of experience with water.

And they will forever be known as either "that peeing team" or "team crying". Could they not see how close that boat with those guys were to them? At least pull over to the side before you hang your butt over the edge and just pee. Good grief! That said, I was  at the guys laughing in disbelief and I also laughed everytime someone tumbled into the water or got stuck in the trees. This made me laugh almost as hard as the cheese task where all the wheels of cheese kept rolling down the hill.

:cheer2: Surfers! What a great leg for them, so positive and easy breezy. They were definitely smart to go for the pancake challenge, which they made look so easy.
