2026 4CC - Men Free Skate

The panel has deemed him second-best in all three components so far tonight.

He should be below Li, Gerber, and Jirenbayev. Just insane. There's no explanation. And he always scores decently well even not in China.

Yeah, 3A+REP yet again so here it loses base value for not tacking anything on.

This should be rightfully dumped in PCS as well, and it has been all year. But even then, it's better than what Jin just did.

Even mostly clean, like Cha's Moulin Rouge FS from earlier this season, this program is just not all that good.

Well Shaidorov just made a mistake with 3A REP. Hope he’s behind Cha. I don’t know what I dislike more - the music, the haircut or the empty program.
Haircut
So since he biffed the 3X, I guess we're not getting 3X-quad? I don't think he's done it all season?

He needs to wear a Fifth Element-type costume if he's going to skate to this music.
How about LeeLoo's orange wig??

Well, Jin's jumps sort of came back for him today, so good for him skating at home. The rest of it was....not good.

Shaidorov - I do not enjoy this program. Boy can jump but that's about it.

ETA: Glad Cha is still ahead.

Well, thank God that was behind Cha.

Jin's PCS is higher than Shaidorov's and there are heads exploding all over FSU. :angryfire

I know people think his programs are so meh but his quality of skating is so nice. Infinitely better than whatever we saw with Shaidorov and Jin and they always stick him barely above 80 PCS, too.

More or less keeping it together aside from throwing away rotations. First 3A I don't think was super clean and would review.

GIVE. HIM. A. MEDAL. But it will be close.

Sota Yamamoto (Japan)
Yesterday by Michael Bolton, Paul McCartney, John Lennon

3 Salchow
4 Toe Loop + 3 Toe Loop
4 Toe Loop
Choreo Seq
3 Axel + Euler + 2 Salchow
3 Axel - not a great run out on landing
3 Lutz + 2 Axel
Fly Camel Spin L4
Step Sequence L3
3 Flip
Change Combo Spin L4
Change Sit Spin L4

That was great. A couple of errors by overall the quality just went up exponentially.

Very nice skate for Yamamoto. Best I think we've seen from him in a few seasons, but he did give away some vital TES and he may have given away just enough to keep Cha in the lead.

I've seen so many season bests, it's very late but it seems like the are just throwing them out like "it's the end of the season might as well use them"

This is the program I raved about all 2024 and I needed him to do it justice this season. It's SPECTACULAR when he's on.

But I'm left with some regional 2024 competition for all the good feelings, I guess.

More or less kept it together, though.

Dang... Kazuki with too many errors on the jumps today. Pretty sure that Cha just slayed another skater and will get no worse than silver.

Kazuki Tomono (Japan)
Halston by Stephan Moccio

4 Toe Loop + 2 Toe Loop - 4 Toe poor landing big gap between it and second jump
4 To Loop - better
4 Salchow - UR
3 Loop
Fly Camel Spin L3
3 Axel + Euler + 3 Salchow
3 Flip + 2 Axel
3 Axel
Step Sequence L4
Change Sit Spin L3
Choreo Seq
Change Combo Spin L3

Nicely skated (apart from early couple of jumps), but don't think that's going to be enough to stay in the lead.

ETA - Eek, 3rd with one to go.
