I'd forgotten how many amazing guest stars they had too, right from the very start. Ray Charles, Joan Collins, Alex Trebek, Jane Seymour, Elton John, Hugh Grant, and more. And that's not even counting all the big Broadway names (though funnily despite his many mentions, I don't think Mr. Sheffield's arch-nemesis Andrew Lloyd Webber ever appeared)

I was reading that Fran Drescher never wanted Fran and Maxwell to actually end up together. She wanted the show to end with her still the nanny and them still having the unrealized sexual tension, but the network forced them to do it or they wouldn't agree to another season.

Anyway, once I'm done with The Nanny, I'll be watching Fleabag. Don't know how I'll see Andrew Scott as a "hot priest" when to me he'll always be Jim Moriarty.
Then I'll be rewatching 3rd Rock from the Sun, also on Prime. I remember loving that show too.
 
I don't know why watching people eat new foods is hysterical to me but there is a series on Hulu called Kids Try. There are 6 episodes per season and 3 seasons. Each episode is approximately 10 minutes long so it's really quick watching. The first one was kids trying typical brown bag lunches from the 1920's to 2000. :lol: The change in food was quite interesting. I guess coffee was a popular lunch drink at one point after milk.
 
I'm watching "Made in heaven" on prime, which was released about a year ago. It's just delightful (it's getting darker from episode to episode, still quite light in the light of subjects), about two wedding planners in India (Delhi). It tackles various very serious topics such as dowry, abuse, being gay (notorious paragraph 377), class, heritage. Then there is kissing, and some (not very explicit) sex, which is ususally not on screen in India.

What I particularly like are the different kinds of weddings, Sikh, Muslim, Hindu... It's all beautifully set, costumes, fashion, title secquence.

Has anyone been watching Sanditon on PBS? Wondering if it's worth a try.

We started Watchmen on HBO, but moved on after 1 1/2 episodes. Neither of us could get into it. I thought I would like it more, being a Regina King fan.

Next we tried Sharp Objects, but that didn't hold our interest either. The whole Southern Gothic thing was OTT, and Patricia Clarkson's character was like a bad Blanche DuBois parody. Amy Adams's character, we found dull.

On Sanditon, so far, yes. Especially if you are a Jane Austen fan.

I've watched 1/2 ep. of Sanditon. I was bored. And with so many good content out there (particularly when you don't mind subtitles), I let it got. My feeling: Jane Austin is a far better read than on television.

As a Regina King fan (Southland :)) and a even bigger Amy Adams fan, I was quite surprised, that I couldn't get into the resp. series
 
I watched the first two episodes of The Witcher last night. Friend came around who had already seen it. He loves it. So much so that he knew the song from the second episode.

I did enjoy it and I think it will get better as I get further into it. I did find the mix of period styles a bit disconcerting but hey it is fantasy. Worth watching for Henry Cavill.

I think "Watchmen" is terrific because of the history regarding race relations in Tulsa, including a very, very ugly incident that was barely received any coverage all of those years ago. I love how the past informs the present in this inventive series and Regina King is a goddess as far as I am concerned. Best of the best....

It took me a while but I did get into it. Yes, there are times they use modern language when they are dressed like from much earlier times. But it supposedly takes place in some other place and time so I try to ignore it.

They're in a place now (middle episodes) where there is lots of gratuitous sex and nudity though. Blech.

It is, literally, a different world, so I don't find the mix of old and modern as jarring as I would with a show that was actually set in an earlier era. And I agree about Henry Cavill. He is very pretty, LOL.
 
By accident I found 'Dark Shadows' - original tv soap opera from late 60s/early 70s on HULU.
OMG - I am laughing so hard. The show is just bad, but as a kid it scared me to death. So campy.
Just a hoot to rewatch again. Jonathan Frid as Barnabas is just awesome. Makes sense that shows/movies since do not catch on as much - he is Barnabas and no one else does what he does. He is doing it seriously but with something like whimsy that hits the right note.

I used to run home after school to watch this before my mom got home from work. I loved Alexandra Moltke as Victoria.

Just started watching "Next In Fashion". It's like Project Runway on steroids. It starts with a series of pair challenges whose dynamics are interesting but in some cases predictable in that some of the pairs knew each other before the competition; others not at all. When 8 designers remain, it becomes a single designer challenge.

It is far more international than Project Runway and geared to what I would think is the 18-34 demographic. In many cases, it focuses on street style while Project Runway is not as bleeding edge. But it is interesting as many of the designers are very talented.

Just binge watched it and I loved it. Amazing thoughtful, respectful of all cultures, languages, religious beliefs and outstanding acting. The lead actor is just unbelievably charismatic and makes you want to believe in him so much, this coming from a non-believer. Highly advise anyone to watch it. It will make you think about many subjects whether geopolitics, humanitarian, religious, personal struggles... you name it. It was way too short and I can't wait for season 2.

I always heard The Crown would go for six seasons, and the casting has been for two seasons at a time, so perhaps that is just weird syntax - i.e. she will be playing QEII in both the fifth and the final, sixth, season, rather than the fifth season is the final.

Too bad. I felt like this past season covered too many years so I don’t think it had to be this way but at the same time I also feel like the quality has been going down each season so maybe by the time five is done, I will be ready for the show to be over.
