NCAA Basketball: Conference Championships to First Four to Final Four

OOOOH, this was the bracket where I picked UofL for the Final Four. I'm beginning to wish I'd picked UofL vs. UK for the championship game though. That would be epic.

Yes but sucks for Syracuse: I do think Ohio State is playing well and could give Kentucky a game if those two meet for the championship.

Honestly this is probably the worst offensive team KU has had in at least a decade but here they are because they tough it out on defense. But UNC has so many good players even if they don't have their guard. I dunno...

I would like to have seen what Syracuse vs. Ohio State would have been like with even competent officiating. I don't blame the loss on the officials by any stretch of the imagination. Syracuse could have won if they'd made their layups.

But I firmly believe we were robbed of a great game by one of the worst officiating jobs I've ever seen in my life. 28 fouls on Syracuse in the game, 58 total fouls. Some of them called when contact was never even made. Charges called when the defender was both moving and in the circle. It was insane. Even sports media members (including Jay Bilas) were complaining about it on twitter. The teams were barely able to play basketball because the officials were attempting to make the game about them.

I feel sorry for my team. They've been through really a lot this year and we are losing some amazing seniors who are both excellent basketball players and wonderful people. But they just didn't do quite enough to win. If anyone is interested in a nice article on the Syracuse seniors, this one is excellent.

Yeah I saw Bilas on that. I have a lot of trust in his opinion. That was a good article if a sad one. As someone who has watched my team lose it's share of Elite Eights I don't think there is a worse feeling for your team. When it happens I honestly would have rather had my team lose in the Sweet 16 then endure of the pain of the Elite Eight. If UNC was at full speed we would have been heading home too. It is weird the way things work out sometimes.

ChelleC: Do you have a headache this morning? We celebrated last night a bit too much. This is the best I've felt about a loss--nice being the underdog every once in awhile. Congrats to UK! And Jayhawk fans are already gearing up for next year. We don't have much of a football team so we can't wait for hoops.

Well I'm pulling out an old thread because the game between KU and OU (and the amazing Buddy Hield) deserved it's "instant classic" label and felt like some sort of conference championship game though it was simply a regular season affair. I love KU but I've never seen a three OT game before at Phog Allen Fieldhouse. I can't wait until the teams meet again at OU.

KU lost to Michigan State and their amazing player Denzel ? Valentine. It is nice to see so many good players though losing is tough.

I love college hoops.
