Hawayek/ Baker Cheer Thread

Not really a fan of their new FD. It looks extremely generic and paint-by-the-numbers.
I agree--the unchanging tempo is monotonous and the lifts are same old, same old. Also, the choreography lacks highlights. I feel this way about most of the FDs I've seen so far--how about some beautiful transitions? I do like Kaitlin's dress--finally a style that flatters her!

I like it too, but I thought it looked somehow familiar. Then I remembered that it looks like one of Meryl Davis's old exhibition dresses. I looked it up, and it's certainly the same dress - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlWAYa47wHA. So it's just borrowed, and it will most likely be changed to another dress later. I just hope Kaitlin does not change it to something more girly again. This more mature dress looks good on her indeed.

I like it but frankly Krylova is failing her team's technically. Weaver and Poje are in the same boat as this team with regards to Twizzles.

Well had to scroll to page 8 to find their thread but big shout out to them for a great skate at NHK! 4th place was fantastic since they were up against 3 World Champion teams. Their TES was even slightly higher than P/C but to be fair P/C had a level 2 on twizzles. Still, impressive! The Japanese fans were very enthusiastic, I even saw a partial standing O for them. Sure hope they continue to improve. I love watching them skate.

Kaitlin & Jean-Luc are listed on USFS' International Assignments page today as their one dance entry to Golden Spin of Zagreb (Dec. 7-10, 2016), which will be their second Challenger Series competition this fall.

I was very happy with Kaitlyn and Jean-Luc's performance at NHK and that the CBC announcing team as well as Charlie and Tracy acknowledged their improvements in their skating. Here's hoping for more success in Golden Spin and at the upcoming US Nationals.

Oh jeez, what happened to Hawayek/Baker in their beautiful FD? This is hard to believe. Were they feeling pressure from Benoit/Pogrebinsky?

Good luck to H/B in regrouping and coming back strong to do battle. There are just so many good teams in the U.S.

I feel sorry for Cannuscio/McManus too what with all the junior ice dance teams who came up and C/M lost some confidence. It's nice to see C/M battled back in the FD.

They have been assigned Skate Canada and Skate America for next season! I hope they make a really strong statement as they are the favorites imo to win Four Continents? (I mean they are my favorites and I'd love for them to make the Olympic team but at this point I find it unlikely)
