Thanks! Does the "members only" lock message go away once we all start at the same time?

I'm kind of confused. On wiki, it said Arrowsmith was 29th in the SP, so how did she make the LP cut-off when skaters placing 25-31 did not?

I don't recall ever seeing Jenna Arrowsmith before. No jump content but she has a nice carriage and flow.

Really good qualifying round? I have totally forgotten anything I ever knew about 6.0.

That's a consensus. 4.0-4.1 for technical/4.1-4.3 for presentation. Total base marks for the rest of the competition.

I think Arrowsmith automatically made the cut because she was the host skater for Great Britain?

I didn't even think about that! That makes sense.

Also, it's weird to see Malinina with her hair like that. I'm so used to her seeing her hair being shoulder-length.

Just looked at the results on Wikipedia. I'm guessing she was given automatic qualification in to the LP as a "home" skater.

Oh man, Malinina is really emotional after that skate. That's sad to see.

LOL at that fur

Oksana Baiul created a short-lived trend. Thank goodness for it being short-lived. I also wonder how Malinina's career would have panned out had she still had to skate under the Soviet Union.

Excellent spins, especially in that era, but those jumps... :yikes:. That jump content would place low in 1984.

I don't remember this young version of JRo, but I'm enjoying her way more than I did ten years later. That sly wink to start!

This is probably prudish of me, but every time I see a women's singles skater with a ponytail I immediately think "juniorish." It just looks like sloppy packaging, IMO.

I don't remember this girl at all. I was just a casual fan (and 14) at the time, and I've never liked ladiieezzzzzzz either then or now. So maybe I should just be proud of myself that I remember more than 75% of these people LOL

I thought the BLR girl his was Hubert at first. Same hairstyle and packaging.

Just tuned in to Nikitochkina skating to Semiramide... Maybe she wasn't so great but love the music choice!

ETA followed by Last of the Mohicans. I wish someone currently competing would go back to this soundtrack.
