Wasn't it just a month ago or so that Plushenko flipped out because Yags was skating at his rink? How desperate for attention are they? Enough already...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

By the way, what is the excuse for Plushenko not going to Junior Nats now? He sure had a lot to say but he never can be bothered to show up to the competition even now? What kind of coach is that?

Did t he recently have a serious surgery on his neck or back after he was taken to the hospital?

The US girl will be a junior next season while the Eteri trio will be seniors

Who, if any, of the Eteri girls (or other Russians) plan to compete on the JGP cycle next season? Do we know? Kamila Valieva turns 13 this April, so she should be eligible to go head to head vs Liu soon (this fall), I think.

Any new Japanese wonder-girls entering JGP age eligibility this fall?

I’m wondering if JGP might be the Liu Lock that USFS envisages it to be?

I like both Plush and Yags, they've each contributed to the legacy of Russian skating in their own way and now they're each carrying it on in their own way. There's no reason for either them or their fans to be at odds at this late date.

Well, I do enjoy a good trashy argument between celebrities...:shuffle:
Keep going, Plush and Yags!
:D On March 10, 2019, there is a big celebration at Yubileniy Skating Rink (St. Pete.) dedicated to "50 Years of Coaching Carrers: Mishin and Moskvina". Many of their former, and few current, pupils will get together and perform.

Mishin says it is an "ideal moment" for Plush/Yag to make peace..
https://www.sportsdaily.ru/articles...ent-dlya-rukopozhatiya-yagudina-i-plyushhenko

I usually lean towards Plushenko's "side" in this squabble, because when they met back in the days, Yags was older, more established, and was rather mean and nasty to Plush, plus the "jealousy" factor puts me on the side of the one who is the subject of jealousy. But... there are times when i think Plushenko, when it comes to public displays and comments, is not acting smart, saying too much, and not always thinking..

His last "hand shaking offer" sounds like a publicity stunt, attempt to attract attention away from the fact that his Club's skaters did not perform well. Plush is a star and needs to stay in the limelight but... it's best when it is done with the right actions, so less hype, more results from his skaters would be a good idea.. :p

Of the current Eteri-Team the following are eligible to compete (and/or to remain) in Jrs. (minus sure transfers to srs. Kost and Trus):
- Shcherbakova. she competed internationally a very short time, even with her success, there are conversations about her staying in Jrs. for 1 more season.
- Valieva (born April. 2006, will make it to seniors by 21/22)
- Usacheva (born May. 2006, will make it to seniors by 21/22)
- Akatieva (born July 07, 2007, not sure if eligible for jrs. upcoming season)

Then i think there are few "girls who skate for fun/commercial/self-paid students"
Valeria Emeliyanova, a jr., but eligible to transfer to srs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VowEGS8n4H8

Then there are two more transfers (this summer) Zhilina sisters, Veronica and Alena

Veronika Zhilina has been learning 3A since she was 9 years old.. She was born 2008, will go to jrs in 2 years.

she is the "new swan Bauil" (videos been posted before)

There are few more already Jr. age transfers to Sambo, but it is not official yet.

Panova/Tzareva/Bouianova/Davydov Jr. Girls... have not been heard/seen practicing 3A or quads.
Mishin/St. Pete's schools... same thing, but i suspect Mishin may have few in works.
Plushenko's school posted few videos of various jr. girls practicing 3A/quads, but they are "no names" at present.

One other jr. girl, representing Poland, skating at the Cricket Club, is Ekaterina Kurakova, she is practicing quads and i believe attempting 3A's, but not yet in competition.

the "jealousy" factor puts me on the side of the one who is the subject of jealousy.

Tinami Amori, sorry, but you are boring with your fabricated stories. We can see, that Plushenko tells he envied Yagudin, because Yagudin had more attention from Mishin. (you are the one who posted the link to these words by Evgeni) It happened so because Yagudin was older. Yet don't tell, please, about Alexei's jealousy - when Evgeni tells about his own (Evgeni's) jealousy. :)

What do I think? I think later Yagudin was jealous either. Yagudin couldn't understand why Mishin sent him to the events where Urmanov skated, so that Yagudin lost there - while Plushenko won at other events and gained prestige.

Evgeni wanted to beat Yagudin since their childhood and was "making circles" round Yagudin and later started to "bite" Yagudin - as Evgeni tells. It seems Yagudin didn't want to "make circles" round Urmanov and "bite" Urmanov. :) In his book Yagudin says, that he still thinks Urmanov is his good friend - the only one from Mishin's group.

about Mishin (from Yagudin's book): "He was one of those coaches who even forbade their students to talk with competitors off ice. /.../ Yet I really like socializing, talking to other participants of a competition entertains and comforts me."

Opinions/conclusions are not "stories"... :p. Facts and events are there, conclusions are different.

There is nothing you can say that will make me change my mind that Yagudin left Mishin because he felt that Mishin is putting too much effort into Plushenko (who skated by Yagudin's side at the time) and did not want to share the ice/coach/attention with a rival. There is more to the story, it includes Urmanov, and personal relationship between Mishin and Yagudin. The deciding factor in Yagudin's decision to leave Mishin, was after he lost medals (came in 5th) and Plushenko was sent in his place to Minneapolis championship. When the RFSF announced the substitution, Mishin did not dispute it, and did not sign the petition to remove Plushenko and reinstate Yagudin.

Yagudin said: I could not believe i was treated this way by the Federation. If members of the Federation thought that Evgeniy can skate better than me at the Worlds, they were gravely mistaking.
Ягудин: «Мне с трудом верилось, что федерация могла так со мной поступить. Если члены федерации думали, что Евгений может превзойти меня на ЧМ, они заблуждались».

Yagudin was resentful (jealous) of Plushenko and Mishin's support of him. You don't like my conclusions? live with it, and/or state your own... :p

If so, Mishin must have mellowed. Sofia and Liza talk with anyone and everyone, judging by videos and social media.
Mishin has not mellowed is his "approaches to those who threaten him/his success/reputation"... He gets back at those who undermind him (in his opinion) very hard and rough, Nugumanova, Lozko, etc.., and until recently had a "quiet rivalry" with Tarasova.. But he is smart, watches what he says to the press and in public, solves some of the issues quietly and behind the scenes, sometimes directly with the Federation... and for a number of reasons "the media is not after him". He has good control of his image and reputation...

:D It is "medieval and feudal" among the top coaches/skaters within RFSF.. "The Prince" in-action...

Thanks. So the upcoming JGP is by no means a “lock-and-load” for Alysa Liu. All that she & the rest can do is to try their very best, then let the cream rise to the top. Hype won’t help.

What was the problem with Alisa Lozko?
I don't have links to post with all the details, so this conversation will turn into a disaster, be sure... :D Just in a nut-shell. Lozko was unhappy at Mishin's. Left for Tutberidze. Was unhappy there. Returned to Mishin, yet treated like a "trator" and given the cold shoulder by all at the rink, including Mishin's group. She started to look for another situation (in secret), Mishin learned about it, kicked her out rather ruthlessly... and she was not able to find the next place to skate in singles.

Opinions/conclusions are not "stories"

You may have any opinion, yet when you tell your own "truth" which differs even from Evgeni's version - it is a fabricated story. :)

As I said, I think later Yagudin was jealous either.

Yet in the beginning of the story Mishin almost didn't work with Evgeni - as Evgeni tells. Evgeni had to look what the older boys did and to try to do the same. Then Evgeni started "to bite" Yagudin (who had the biggest part of Mishin's attention after Urmanov and Tataurov) - in order to make Mishin see Evgeni deserved his attention. Then Mishin started to spend more time with Evgeni. Only after that Yagudin had reasons to become jealous either. At that moment of time Evgeni was not just a poor kid, but a rival who had been "biting" Yagudin day by day for a long time. :) It seems Yagudin never spoke about Evgeni's attacks. Evgeni tells this story.

So - sorry - I'm OK with the fact, that Yagudin was able to be glad, when Evgeni fell in a competition. (As for other competitors, Yagudin really likes socializing.)

Yagudin didn't like this conflict - and Yagudin found the decision: he left the group. It seems everyone agrees, that it was good for all of them. Yagudin was almost a boy too, when he solved this problem. His mom was crying, when he had to go to America. Tarasova was impressed, that Mishin already knew, that Yagudin had decided to leave, though Yagudin still didn't know who was going to be his new coach. Tarasova knew, that skaters usually looked for a new coach secretly. Yagudin... didn't manage to make a secret out of that - he went to nowhere.

Lala likes to remind, that Evgeni was so strong when he was so young. Well, he became so strong when he was so young, thanks to Yagudin (to a high degree): Evgeni started to compete not on TV screens, he had been fighting for an opportunity to be Mishin's student day by day - when they both were kids.

You're the one who is telling stories now.... I merely said "i am on the side of those who are victims of jealousy".

So - sorry - I'm OK with the fact, that Yagudin was able to be glad, when Evgeni fell in a competition. (As for other competitors, Yagudin really likes socializing.)
You know the old Russian saying "болтун - находка для врага" (a blabber is a gift for the enemy)?

So, thank you for reminding me about Yagudin's joy when Plushenko fell... To me it is another proof of jealousy and a poor sportsman ship... ;)

Yags and Plush for almost two decades now have from time to time initiated digs against each other and continuing to do so. Imo 1: it is Yags who started it. Imo 2: Yags is more media savvy, more "passive aggressive", and Plush is right to respond but he does not do it smartly.

I don't invent "quotes" (like you did when you made your "summary"). These quotes are quotes indeed.

I merely said "i am on the side of those who are victims of jealousy"

:) I merely answer: listen to your "victim" - and you will hear he tells he "started to bite" and kept "biting" day by day. Evgeni started "to bite" not because Yagudin did something, but because Evgeni was fighting for Mishin's attention. (it is Evgeni who says so)

I'm honest with you. I'm not afraid to "remind" something what you'd like to remember.

Quotation marks don't always mean "quotes", they can be used to "highlight" something.. :D

...yes, you answered, but with stories... :D

I'm honest with you. I'm not afraid to "remind" something what you'd like to remember.
... and now be honest about the fact that when you yourself mention that a skater cheers when his rival falls, it's unwise to defend such skater's innocence against the other... :D

I am sticking with "Yags is more clever, he bates Plush, and Plush does not handle it properly. They will never eliminate the past, and should just lay off each other".

Pls reply if you chose to. I am ending my participation, we're about to have many pissed off people if we continue.

I'm honest. Did I say Yagudin was innocent or perfect? I didn't. Did you say Evgeni was a victim? You did. I don't think so. I merely answer: listen what your "victim" tells. :)

I heard the same thing... Some weeks before GPF she could not fit into her SP unitard, they weighted and measured her, she learned that she gained a dress size, and grew in height, and started crying... well, they sent her to get a new dress urgently for GPF ... (did not see it myself...) Also there was something about her muscles hurting, because her limbs are growing, she feels discomfort, her muscles stretched and strained, etc..

PS... interesting you mentioned it. it's not noticeable, she is so small. But now looking at fotos, she does look a bit puffier now..
