DWTS Season 22 3-21-2016

I love this Zendaya performance, the Argentine tango: https://youtu.be/yfOv-6X4i1E

She has had a lifetime of dance experience. She did extremely well on DWTS and was judged at another level due to her dance experience. She seems to have remained good friends with Val after the show and she appeared in the first two productions of Sway. So of all the guest judges, Zendaya actually had the credentials to be there. I'd say she's done more ballroom than Carrie Ann.

Zendaya was the only thing keeping me watching in Season 16. People are talking about hip hop songs up in The Trash Can. Zendaya used a good song in week 9.

Switch up Partners for the 04/18 show.

Von/Lindsay. Jive
Ginger/Mark. Salsa
Antonio/Karina. ChaCha
Peta/Doug. Tango
Kim/Keo. Viennese Waltz
Nyle/Sharna. Viennese Waltz
Paige/Sasha. Rumba
Jodie/Val. Paso Doble
Wanda/Witney. Tango

Someone please remind me....is anyone voted off during switch up week? I seem to remember that everyone gets another dance but I have been wrong before.

:LT31:Switch up night with Maks as a guest judge.:D So how much weight has Wanya lost doing DWTS?

WOW Len and Maks really gave it to Keo about his choreography. I felt sorry for him.

Keo was great on the DWTS tour, but I think choreo is probably not his strength.

LOL at Maks invoking Meryl in response to Keo's size difference defense. Not really fair to compare Kim to Meryl, but Keo pretty much walked into that. Should have kept his mouth shut.

The Flutie fluff piece really makes you think about the concussion effects of his playing career even though he never mentions the word and just says the difference in his ability to remember things may be due to age.

How many more seasons are they going trying to make the switch-up a thing? Everything so far has been so underwhelming, mostly probably because these are new partnerships. Of course sync is going to be off and chemistry isn't going to be there.

It's a shame because there have been so many excellent dances and performances so far this season up until this week.

That being said, I really wouldn't mind at all to see Paige run away with the entire competition. I don't know if she'll have the fan base to do so, but I figure I'll be voting for her if she's still around once I start voting in a few weeks (lazy about it until the end :p )

I'm loving Maks as a judge this week. Who knew he'd match up with Len and he's not constantly jumping around and screaming like Carrie Ann and Bruno

Paige is a wonderful dancer, but her "this is so different from what I do" sounds a bit false after reading that her parents owned a dance studio and she studied lots of different dance styles growing up.

Nyle was awesome.

The sound went out on my TV while Maks was talking...did he say something bleep-worthy or is my TV starting a slow death?

That was lovely. There were a few spots where he seemed a little off, but the overall emotion and simple elegance of that dance was wonderful.

And once again credit to Tom for his ad libbing re the "shiny little abacus"

Nyle was amazing, but he was a bit clunky at times. I'd have gone for 9s. Can't believe LEN was the one to give the first 10 of the season.
IMO Jodie was the best of the night. That was fantastic! So nice to see what she can do with a partner who can actually choreograph.

Glad Keo was called out on his choreography, and that height thing was BS - just look at Witney and Von from last week - they made it work!

I thought Ginger was overmarked as usual. She gave it everything but I found it very awkward, clunky and at times cringe-worthy.

Paige is a beautiful dancer, but that veered into contemporary country for me. Also, how this is different from what she does - umm, it's different from what almost everyone does, honey!!

Maks was a great judge. Honest, and straightforward, but fair. I'd much rather have him on the panel regularly than even think of ever having Julianne come back (not that I've heard anything about that). He was fantastic! Though Karina didn't think so... (still bitter over their nasty break up?). And I've never heard Erin talk more about her time on the show than she did tonight.

On another note, I was distracted by how absolutely beautiful Peta's makeup was tonight. I covet her lipstick.

So when Sharna asked Nyle about being in love and being able to use that for their dance, Nyle corrected Sharna when she used "he" as the pronoun and Nyle said he was in a ten-year relationship with a she. So Nyle is not gay?

Nyle has said he identifies as "fluid."
