Cute Zoo Pics Part 7

That picture wasn't from an ad, but they do have similar things online at Amazon. Your golden is beautiful! (assuming he's the dog in your avatar).

Yes, that's my Bandit in the avatar. We put up with him because he is so beautiful and also affectionate and adorable - is otherwise a highly hyper and excitable dog, very noisy, and TBH no genius among dogs - hence not easily trainable (trust me I've tried and had much better luck with previous dogs).

When I said 'one of those ' I meant a dog who looked so sad to be going out in the rain, which was my first thought. Looking at it again, maybe the dog is just unhappy to be wearing a raincoat.

Bandit would be absolutely miserable in a raincoat, and do quick damage to it when he rolls around in the grass (one of his favorite things), if he didn't get all caught up in it or strangle himself. It would be different if we did a lot of leash walking, but as he's super high energy his exercise usually involves playing fetch and running off-leash at the park.

He does have a very good recall and is not a dog to bolt, wander or jump the fence in the backyard (which is easy) - so there is at least that.

Update #5: The Rescue Cub is still on formula and the Sumatran Cub (remember originally from the National Zoo in DC) is steadily on solid food.

I don’t know if the Rescue Cub is still on formula purely because he is a tad younger or if it’s because he was so thin when he was rescued at the border. :( Two or three pages back, I posted links with pictures of him when he was rescued. You can also see all the pictures on San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Instagram page.

And both cubs are now big enough spend some time at the Tiger Trail. :)

Update #6: The tiger twosome have graduated from the nursery and are now at the Tiger Trail full time! :D

Now, I want to visit San Diego.….....

In Britain, Mali, a Belgian Malinois, has been awarded the Dickin Medal. This is the UK’s highest award given to military animals for valor.

The story behind what Mali did and what the entire unit went through is unreal. It’s a miracle that Mali survived, even more so that he’s fully recovered. I can’t find where Mali lives now but I believe that most military animals are adopted by service members after their service ends.

Good Boy! :dog:

I love stories like this, except for the part where he got hurt. I'm glad he's fully recovered & I hope he has a forever family. Good boy indeed!
