2024 GPF - Junior Pairs FS

However, I'm in strong agreement that the +A stuff needs to go away after this year.
I believe that none of the singles/pairs suggested changes are going away until after next season.

Quattrocchi/D

Good skate, good foundation of skills and nice unison. Room to build on with triples, etc.

Barton has been a shit to Hanretty for a long time, with lots of little needling “jokes.”
It's been building a lot over the last 24 hours I think. I respect Ted for what he's done (hello, the entire JGP on film) and I've defended him countlessly about not knowing every last detail about the skaters after sitting through 12 hours of skating a day, but he's really getting irritated now and I can't figure out what the issue is. Maybe because Mark is an encyclopedia without even trying.

Eh, Ted gets this way on the JGP with Mark too. I don't think he's being any less passive-aggressive than usual, though it is definitely noticeable to anyone with half a brain watching/listening to the broadcasts.

Th3S and Th2Lz with no throw at all, 3Lz+2A+2A with the Lutz coming in different time zones, but do what you can do and earn those points!

These costumes for Shimizu/Honda really are just kind of bland. They sort of remind me of the costumes McIntosh/Mimar used to have - just washed them out and really had no relation to the music whatsoever.

I would describe this couple as "inoffensive".

Not a lot of personality, but I see the potential.
Plus, I understand it's hard to find a non jumping girl on Japan, so that's good.

Shimizu/Honda

Gotta work on the timing of the SBS jumps, otherwise, lots of lovely moments, lifts were a little careful but not scary

Honda seems incapable of chucking her, yet he can lift her without issue. Strange.

Good skate by Shimizu/Honda. Gosh, some of the pairs (not restricted to juniors) do their SBS jumps so far apart I have to make a decision as to which one I watch and I have no idea if the other one landed the jump or not.

occasionally cameraperson must make the same choice :D and only one jumper is in the frame

Wanna know something wild about Lucas Honda, by the way?

He has a bronze medal in senior level from the all-domestic NHK Trophy in 2020, where he beat out Keiji Tanaka, Shun Sato, Kao Miura, Sota Yamamoto, and Sena Miyake among others. Oh how times quickly change.

Looking for costume change or elegant pop.

Love the Japanese team

And hey, this creepy voiceover combines with touching the judge’s space is good for not me
