2019 Oscars Red Carpet & Ceremony - All Awards Lead To Roma

watching Australian tv and Spike was NOT bleeped lol  Pearls clutched!

Do tell....

Actually "Blackkklansman" was the favorite to win Adapted Screenplay. The upset will be in Spike Lee usurps Alfonso Cauron for director.

I wish I didn’t know that the last big moment in the movie was totally manufactured in Black Klaansman. It made me see the movie different.
What was happening at that time in history was already heinous.

A white guy did the score for Black Panther??

 A college friend of the director. At least he thanked Coogler as well as the black artists who assisted him on the score. :p

And yes re Lady Gaga. She seemed overcome with emotion, but at least she managed to say something upflifting about it not being about winning, but about persevering and never giving up. That's an excellent message, which is not easy to accomplish.

That was a great speech from Gaga.
And I'm so in lust with Mark Ronson, I can forgive that ugly white piping on his tux.

Lady Gaga's reaction is so strange to me. Like she was the biggest lock to win tonight for this category. Why is she acting so surprised?

I think Allison Janey explained it well on the red carpet. In spite her wins at other awards she was nervous because others were good too. She was able to relax only after she won.

There is never a certainty until it happens.

Maybe because the film has continually lost traction over all the awards season.
I also like to think that like Allison Janney mentioned, you can’t always be 100% sure and it’s arrogant to think that way.
I think Lady Gaga is a strong woman but I don’t think she’s arrogant.

And sometimes at some of the smaller or different award shows, one movie works better than others for those voters, and sometimes at the end of the season, the voters get tired of same old and vote differently than previous voters.

Is Rocketman going to win Best Actor and other awards next year? I think Hollywood is on a nostalgic trip making movies they know will be very crowd-pleasing.

Also after seeing and hearing all Academy nominated songs it well deserved the award.
It was in a league of its own.

Artists are emotional creatures, and the movie has been built up and torn down so often over the last few months. That's the only likely award for the film. I'd imagine it has seemed like a rollercoaster, maybe getting the win was the relief she needed now that the ride is over?
