I think Mahershala Ali is a fine, outstanding actor, with great instincts but he already has a recent win. I would have much preferred to see Sam Elliott receive acknowledgment for his outstanding work in A Star Is Born, and indeed for all of his wonderful work in a stellar career. Richard E Grant was also very good too. I'm disappointed in that category, but it's always a crapshoot and deserving actors do not always win.

I meant more would the movie been made. Growing up not everyone liked Queen that I knew and then w Wayne,s World, it seemed to get revived and more popular.
And yes the movie is good and everyone seems to like it.

Yes, I think it would have been made. Queen was very popular worldwide, and so was BR. The studio would have made a profit if only a fraction of the people who saw it actually went.

Was the performance of "Shallow" longer than 90 seconds? Favoritism

Maybe it was 90 second for each of them. The voting is over, so favoritism doesn't really matter. But ratings for the broadcast probably do. And let's face it, GaGa and Cooper were who more people tuned in to see.

There always transcendent performances at awards shows. Adam Lambert also comes to mind for the Kennedy Center honours(I believe) for his performance for Believe by Cher.

Roma can still win. These awards are going the way they're expected to. Nobody thought Roma would win Screenplay but still think it can win Best Pic in a preferential ballot and it will win Best Director.

I wanted to see either BlackKlansman or If Beale Street Could Talk win the writing award, but Spike doesn't need to be making an overwrought political statement out of this. Come on! What about the other writers getting a chance to talk?! Please! Make the speech about winning the writing award FGS!

Maybe he's excited and he didn't expect to win, but calm down and get it together.

I'm pretty sure all the co-writers agreed ahead of time to give Spike that moment. I didn't expect him to be so nervous.
