I think the color washes her out, and she makes more sense as a brunette. I also think some of the hair looks like extensions.

Now that makes sense. Because it's the lower part that looks fake not the stuff that goes right into her head.I think the color washes her out, and she makes more sense as a brunette. I also think some of the hair looks like extensions.
There comes a time though, when you have darker brown hair, that the grey roots start appearing after about 3 weeks ( if you are lucky) and you start thinking about going a bit lighter so you don't have to make a trip every three weeks. This coming from someone who decided with her hairdresser today to go one tone lighter and start that processNot difficult to cover grey hair every 6 weeks when you have the $$, time and access to the best hair stylists in the world.

That stuff doesn't work for meThat’s when you use this.
I spent 2.5 hours today at the hairdressers getting root touch up and highlights.
I love it but not the price tag.
I'm lazy too. But I don't craft.I embrace the gray because I am lazy and want to spend my money on craft supplies.
Same. But I also wish to fight against the assumption that women must want to dye their hair as soon as they begin to go grey.I embrace the gray because I am lazy and want to spend my money on craft supplies.
When I went looking for a wig to use through chemo, I couldn't wrap my mind around the ones made from real human hair. They creeper me out too much to even try on. It was like wearing someone else's skin. Just couldn't do it.You can get really authentic looking (with a real looking scalp) high end wigs made with human hair these days that are impossible to tell from real hair.

I'm not sure why you reference Ultra Orthodox community. I worked in Oncology in the 70's and 80's. We encouraged young girls and women to wear whatever head dress they preferred. Some often said wigs were too hot or slid and much preferred scarves
I don't think it's driven by religion
Only the very, very extreme ones. It’s not common even amongst the standard ultra-orthodoxI know in the Ultra-Orthodox community, it's become quite a controversy whether wigs now look "too nice." There is actually a push in some of the enclaves for women to wear cloth hair coverings rather than wigs.
