Decathlon OMG the level of hotness and pornyness is incredible!!!

Kenny Harrison stumbled on the first hurdle in her semifinal but ran for her life to qualify in extremis!! Girl was so lucky!!! It seems will be Sally Pearson vs The American Team as all 4 US girls qualified to the final

400m hurdles champion Kori Carter talking about her spirit animal squirrels calling them "spastic" and cue the BBC switchboard erupting in outrage!

I will be honest and say I did raise my eyebrows when she said it and I will disagree with American commentators and say after 22 years living in the US I never heard 'spastic' meaning happy and excited (I paraphrase here)! Still it didn't get me agitated enough to pick up my phone and complain - mind you not much does :D

Spastic doesn't carry the same connotations in the US as it does in the U.K. Spaz is more like, clumsy or excitable or all Over the place rather than offensive.

I'm in the US and I think squirrels are spastic. Especially the ones that keep trying to run under my bike wheels!

Dafne Schippers takes the 200m worlds title again, Marie-Josee Ta Lou in silver and Shaunae Miller-Uibo getting bronze with the Brit Dina Asher-Smith finishing in 4th!!!!!!! However as she broke her foot at the beginning of the year that was a good result!!

Good for Dafne!

Dina can't be disappointed considering the injury, but that really is a lot of fourths (and as a Canadian I can empathize) :p

Ta Lou beaten twice by better leans - though at least she did try to lean this time whereas she was upright in the 100m final which if she had leant she would have won!!

Really stunning 1-2 for the US in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase, so poised, tactical and focused on their technique over the hurdles, tremendous victory for Emma who sets PB, Championship Record and American Record. Girl in silver medal didn't believe her accomplishment, 16 seconds under her old PB!!! she came out of nowhere but really stick to Coburn all the race and it paid her with a surprising medal

Brittney Reese won her 4th world title overall in the Long Jump, 7.02 just over Klishina and bronze for Bartoletta, Spanovic had a 7+ meter last jump but blame her bib in her back as it touched first the sand and that was taken to give her a mark

Men's Hammer throw, Pawel Fajdek third world championship in a row though he still is the Kurt Browning of the Hammer event, unable to produce an Olympic performance up to his level of quality with two nightmare olympic experiences 2012 and 2016 when he didn't even advanced to the final of the event where he clearly has been the best as of recent years

How many times have British athletes finished FORTH this week?

Forth: 5
Fifth: 2
Sixth: 3
Seventh: 2
Eight: 1

It's not as bad like the media is making look the brit performance, so many finalist placement though just one lonely medal that would be two most likely and they can get some stuff in the relays too

I just held my breath but thank goodness both the ladies and men's 4x100m teams for GB made it through. Baton changes are so scary!!

And now lets see if Bolt can get the Jamaicans through. He is running the heat which he never usually does!!

I had to quote this as I so agree - the Decathlon men are all utterly gorgeous. They have a body type that I just love - strong and sexy without being overtly muscular :grope: :inavoid:

Rico Freimuth narrowed the gap to Meyer with a massive throw in the discus - now only about 24 points behind. Turning into some competition this Decathlon!!

Meyer came close to disaster in the PV choosing to come in at 5m10cm and had two fails. Then on his 3rd attempt way clear height wise but literally brushed the bar as he came down but it stayed up - thank goodness. One very relieved Frenchman.

Honestly I watch KJT jumping here and shake my head as to why she couldn't jump like this last week for the heptathlon as the 1.88m she just jumped would have given her silver last week!!

Who knows? I think instead of just focusing on doing each event the best she could (which I think that + consistency is the key to combined events), she has been getting too hyped on "If I nail this, I CAN WIN!!!"

Well done Sally Pearson - winning her 100m hurdles final. Kendra Harrison fails to perform again on the world stage.

Well even though I wanted him to win part of me wants to say 'that'll teach you BBC' for pushing Mo down our throats all evening'. Have they also put the kybosh on Jamaica winning the 4x100m later on.
