I'd love to see Piper/Paul win worlds but that's unlikely as long as FB/C are on the entry list and it makes sense they'll go since Laurence doesn't have a world title (or medal). I feel like Piper/Paul had such a magical moment at the Olympics that would be the perfect moment to end their careers on as it'll be hard to replicate such a perfect skate.

Even though they're currently on the entry list, I think there's a very small chance we actually see C/B show up and rightfully so. They have 3 world titles, why go for a silver?

Even from a record number of medals standpoint they don't quite reach it.

If they went and earned a medal of any color, they would have 7 total. Still behind Bestemianova and Bukin at 8 (4 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze) and Moiseeva and Minenkov (2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze). And they would tie with Klimova and Ponomarenko, Pakhomova Gorshkov and Virtue and Moir at 7 total.

Just for my viewing pleasure I'd be happy if one or more of Fabbri and Ayer, Demougeot and LeMercier, and Green and Parsons were at Worlds. Any team that wants to withdraw and go on a nice vacation or some fabulous shows or whathaveyou to make this happen would be applauded by me.

The Olympic truce doesn´t just magically stop between Olympics and Paralympics. Paralympics is starting next week. So yes, they have broken it.

Who the heck knows? I wasn't certain we would get to the Olympics. Not much time before Worlds. Could also be repercussions later? As when it comes to politics, things do not tend to move at the speed of the internet.

Are we sure Gilles & Poirer are still planning on going to worlds? I stumbled on this interview via reddit and... these seem like questionable things to say when you're going to face a few of your competitors soon?

- You were very dignified. Is that because you're professionals representing a polite country? Were you upset by how things turned out?

- "No, actually, it's kind of funny. Paul and I were absolutely thrilled. We were completely removed from all the Olympic drama. We were the lucky ones on the podium. And that, you know, is quite rare at the Olympics. Usually, the entire top three is celebrating, crying, and emotions are running high.

But in a way, Paul and I have really prepared ourselves for this moment over the past two years. The American team has done this to us many times: they might not skate their best, fall or trip, the judges might not notice, and they'll still beat us.

For example, they robbed us of two World Championship medals by ending up on top of the podium. So Paul and I know exactly what that feels like, and it's a terrible feeling."

But I think we learned a lot about ourselves and how to handle these situations. You just have to say, "I can't help it. Yes, I don't like it, but I'm not going to go to the media and make a big fuss."

At that same competition, a British judge gave us seven points lower than the other judges. As a result, after the rhythm dance, he sent us to seventh place. That's exactly what the French did to the Americans, but no one talks about what they did to us. And that happened at the last three competitions before the Olympics.

So, a lot was going on. So Paul and I decided to take a more dignified path—to rise above it all, focus on our skating, and be happy with the result.

Because, after all, it's an Olympic medal. Not everyone has one. And for us, it's a victory. And if we can walk out of there happy, smiling, and acting "very Canadian," then we've already won. We won gold in the sense that we performed well."

The quotes sounded more like a translation from Russian on fsgossips. But it's hard to claim to take the high road when your dog's social media account wuzrobbed you after GPF.
