Wait, we actually have a train emoji now???!!!
There's like 5 train emojis ?????
And a station emoji for those boarding or departing ?
A railcar ? - which could be used for @Jeschke's van since I didn't find a van emoji - there's ???????️?? but no van...
And a ?️for them to lie down on when they are ready for death to take them during any given program.

Take off Glenn
The only ways she can get off are by (1) earning the hardware (not necessarily at ISU Championships, though that's how it has been done), (2) retiring, (3) losing her ability to stay competitive at the elite level, or (4) becoming simply too boring.

She obviously doesn't have the medals and hasn't retired, so which are you suggesting she is: not good enough or simply too boring? ?

And you are supposedly her fan. SMH.

Lollllll. Well she’s become so good. Not so much of a trainwreck anymore. And I saw someone else earlier last week suggest of her removal.

But I am all for plenty of members on the train.

??

 She finished sixth at Skate America behind someone who finished seventh the last time she competed at Russian Junior Nationals. Getting better is often what gets skaters onto the Team in the first place.
And I saw someone else earlier last week suggest of her removal.
Was that during your Kahlua-induced psychosis? ?

KSU does not consider international competitions in the selection process. Only two domestic competitions, ranking competition and the Korean national, will be used.
Thanks for claryfing ✅
So the combined score of these events will count and best 2 will go? :drama:

Oh that was skate America, skate Canada was peanut butter cups. I like to be versatile
In other words, yes. Skate America was last week.

I think you should stick with the peanut butter cups. My quick review of the medical literature suggests that peanut butter cups do not cause psychosis and, if the chocolate is dark chocolate, may relieve symptoms of depression caused by realizing that your favorite skater is not getting off #TTW any time soon.

Lol in this case they were milk chocolate. I think we should all embrace that I have watched more figure skating this season than I ever have ever. I am mostly informed on the juniors and I have slipped into a record number of skaters DM’s.

??‍♂️?

 I was watching the replay of the women's SP on the Olympic channel with Tara and Johnny. Tara said Valieva was a caterpillar, Kostornaia was the inbetween stage, and Tuk was a butterfly.

Now, they're replaying the men and Makar is up first. They are gushing over his "distinct style" It's not stamina: it's style.

Caught up on the thread just in time for GP Italy. Quick thoughts on SC since I didn't post

Women
Wakaba - not feeling the SP, the Bird Set Free was better. Lion King is fun, but she should add a bit more to the first part and not wait to come alive at the end.
Mai - the fairy FS music is perfect for her
BoleroSnake - FS is still bad, and definitely overscored but she is very impressive. Best version of the costume so far. I'm okay with her getting OGM if it happens, I've decided
Empress Liza - PCS way too high, but good. I like the SP, FS is just a redo of something she's done better imo. She's in a good spot fighting for the team.
Vampire angel - the new FS is definitely better than 4 Seasons, but yeah. She needs the confidence and stamina in the jumps, so she actually commits to the program because she's not doing much rn. Hope she gets it back even if it's not for the Olympics
USA #1 - so much improvement since Jr. Don't think she's had a 3A called clean yet this season though
Karen - just when she had momentum from Finlandia. I approve of the addition to the team

Dance
CAN#1 (aka neon sparkly pumpkins) - I know people are mixed, but I love the FD music and program
CAN#2 (aka sparkly parrots/parakeets/cockatoos) - the RD costumes are not it, I do like the program. The FD is still fab. They won't be happy with the scores are losing to D/S. But I agree with Boss on Zach, I love how much more he performs now, so good
CAN #3 - I thought the RD was better this time, not one of the best of the year but fun. FD is nice, and I love that Simon has strong opinions on Dua Lipa songs, though I disagree that that's her best
G/P #2 - they have the better Janet Jackson RD imo, and a great FD
Batpeople - rough rough, but if it had to happen it's the right season I guess. Not feeling the programs
RUS #1 (Eteri daughter + partner) - she's a nice performer, and I actually enjoy the RD. I can't help it, Boom Boom Pow is fun. The FD is a miss though, too much a (worse) copy of V/M. The neon skirt is totally wrong. And lacking in the SS, speed, flow
RUS #2 - I like her pants, but otherwise the RD is meh. FD is pretty good but too messy. Rough event for them
Disco Brits - yikes on 7th here. But not wrong. The Kiss is really fun, but the FD is quite meh for me. Can't mess up for the choreo elements when that's where they get so many points
ESP #1 - I want them to get the Olympic spot so bad
G/F - this was the first time the FD really did it for me. Maybe a bit quiet for an Olympic choice. Still not feeling the RD though. I liked the MJ medley for M/E in junior pairs, not this so much.

Pairs
Sui/Han - class. Hope they get that OGM at home
RUS #4 (acrobatic Italian swans) - everything kind of a mess right now, but so many fun moves. Maybe too many, but could be really great if/when they get it all clean. Thank god they didn't keep the Smile SP. Shame for them that he was injured, because B/K aren't that solid right now but neither are they.
USA - on the podium, but lower scores than K/F and C/J. A win, or no? Anyway pretty good
CAN #1 - I really like Fallin as a song, so I actually enjoy the FS. But yeah, not the most exciting music choices. Pretty rough, but apparently it doesn't matter because so are the other Canadian pairs
CAN #2 - yeah, you can't lose two lifts in a FS. Especially not when the twist goes up like a foot
CAN #3 - big improvement in PB for them, so good job
GER - door was open, but they didn't skate through. Still nice

Men
Nathan - good rebound from SA with no time in between. Still meh on his programs so far
Jason - gorgeous SP, not the best FS but this is men's so it didn't really matter
RUS #1 - he's just so Mishin
RUS #2 (staminaboy) - that travelling sitspin looked like a spinning top
RUS #3 (van hostage) - I love that nickname so much, very much approve it going in the lexicon. He always does one gorgeous 4Lz, then the rest...
CAN #1 (Alaska lumberjack) - :yikes:on that splat
Conrad - he's so pretty, if only he skated like he knew that. Best non-Keegan score of the season...
Romsky - so lovely, so :gallopin1

I did most of this before the skating started today, but got distracted so I'm posting it now anyways, despite us literally being into the next event

Oh, Sofia. what is going on with you?
I think she's got an issue with her nerves. She skates so tight in the first half now, and then she comes alive and sells the rest. But it's not enough. Her jumps were always tiny, but she used to sell everything from the very first second and that helped her performance. I hope she can beat it and get her mojo back if she wants to keep going, and I hope she does, at least for a while. Tiny jumps or no, I'll always have a soft spot for her.

I’m still on a high from last week for getting a glossary name added! It’s such an honor!

Ladies Sp

Paint it purple - lovely program, lovely dress. Needs a 3/3. Is Hongyi Chen injured?

Italy 3 - at least she got a rare home Grand Prix.

Mai - 31 for PCS? I dreamed a dream she gets better scoring. Sometimes subtle works much better than busy, cluttered choreo.

Maiia - I think I like her best out of the new group. She performs more than just going through the motions. Those kinda music programs are a guilty pleasure.

Da Schott in the Dark - can she skate to Bon Jovi’s You give love a bad name? I like the dress and program. Glad she’s attempting a 3/3 now.

At least she got a rare home Grand Prix #2. I missed her skate.

Sofia - yes for dua lipa. No for that performance. Bless her heart. She would have been a world medalist in the 2010-14 cycle with her content when clean.

Eunsoo - liked the fire and attack. She seems less frail than a few seasons ago. Shame about the fall. I wonder where she’d be if clean? 71?

Bio-sis - to negate the whole step BS. Loving her power, speed and attack. Interesting Caruso version. Was it from Eurovision? Great seeing big J with her in KnC.

Satoko - much better than SKAM. If you’re going to nail her for the jumps. Nail everyone equally. Such a joy with every nuance - that’s how you do choreo that is constant but not frantic or cluttered.

Yelim - a fav warhorse. Lovely skating, Shame about the jumps. (Thread title?)

Former flavor of the month - she’s a victim of her own success. I feel for her as she regains her form. Did Daniil get a Kiril Richter CD for Christmas last year?

Italia Women
Non-Host Pick - China really came up short in its quest to poach a competitive women's skater this quad.
Host Pick #1 - Meh.
Mihara - still getting robbed by the judges.
Khromkyh - judges not quite ready to go with her yet, but she can darkhorse a win here yet.
Da Schott in the Dark ( ) - how many more chances at the German Olympic Committee standard does she have?
Host Pick #2 - shame that she's having such trouble in the short program these days.

Sofia the Sad - her plucky charm is completely MIA these days, which makes her a bit hard to watch.
Lim - going so well until the final jump. Korean women's field is wide open so far this season, so keep hope alive.
Loena - ? After several events where she messed up the short and then had a blazing free, please keep it up now.
Tiny Queen - generous tech panel was a big help. Stunning to watch as long as you look away when she lands.
Kim - that opening Lutz is too big at this point; Kawabata problems.
Shcherbakova - she has this way of looking vulnerable every single season and then muscling through. We've now checked off the first box, whether we'll check the second remains to be seen.

Italia Dance
Host Pick - Another mix-and-match Italian dance team with bad levels. SOS for their dance program once Charlene & Marco retire.
Non-Host Pick - two different versions of the same song never works for me, but they sold the regular version of "More" well.
Lopareva/Brissaud - in light of recent events, are these two P/C's presumptive successors by default?
Mueller/Dieck - fine, I guess. I'm kind of tired of Harley/Joker programs at this point.
Soucisse/Firus - the downward trend continues unabated.

The First Ms. Jackson - Hawayek/Baker had better come out guns blazing next week.
Wang/Liu - I would never have guessed that Liu would be that convincing an Elvis.
Papadakis/Cizeron - love the waacking armography. They look on pace so far.
Stepanova/Bukin - ouch, dumped by RusFed. Using the Backstreet Boys should be an easy in with me, but I don't like the remix.
The Second Ms. Jackson - bring back Madison's jumpsuit ASAP.

Italia Pairs
First six teams - :gallopin1
The Leftovers - I guess these two are officially The Survivors? Fantastic performance, weird program, that they've been robbed of a Grand Prix Final experience.
Sui/Han - nice to be able to watch in full this time around. Program could use a bit more intensity, but this is a nice start for them.
