This is probably either about
  • that is used to keep Med on top "by financially interested parties which existed and made financial bets/investments/plans on her win in 2018"... which may lead to audits and corruption investigations of financials of several parties and "transfers to Canada and out-of Russia accounts".
I hope it is not the later, as Russian sport and figure skating in particular does need any more "scandals".

They are always too many parties involved in Russian sports so it is difficult not to blame them when some wrong doing is going on...

Before now it was for "status" and "national pride".... now some entities are financially enticed. Athletes are a "ponds" but they "buy into this if they are sold on it".

Alexei Mishin let it all out when he compared the "russian team world placement situation and off-the-record voting" to KGB tactics during Pasternak trial. Samokhvalov (the journalist on RAI) was not joking when he called it "Mafia won" after the "Russian Cup Final" issues.

They both have been "shut up" to some degree..... but not completely. it's not about "skating and skaters" to some extend..... it's about "powerful interested parties" in success of one skater over another, without any consideration for "merit".

Meritocracy - is the one and only fair method of evaluation. All others are "cheating".

This is not the end of this. it will be pursued.

That's troublesome and it doesn't help the wolrdwide assumption that "Russia cheats"... because it cheats even inside its own frontiers...

More likely some kind of ambassador role to the Tokyo summer games.
You're right: Evgenia Medvedeva appointed 'ambassador' for Team Russia at Tokyo 2020

Excerpt
"As you remember in the end of February [2018], the Russian Olympic Team was fully restored and can now compete in Tokyo 2020 under a Russian flag," Pozdnyakov said.

"Evgenia is one of the reasons why this happened. She attended a few meetings and played an important role.

"You cannot not notice diplomatic efforts that Evgenia has shown. For us it seems to be a reasonable decision to choose Evgenia as our official Tokyo 2020 ambassador. The main role of the Ambassador of the Olympic team is to support and be with the team."

The same Alexei Mishin, who sabotaged Alisa Lozko's career when she tried to move to Eteri and forced her back to SPB? And he's one to accuse others of KGB tactics? You didn't have a single thing to say about that whole situation, yet you have so many opinions on everything else.

What is more troublesome is taking everything TA says at face value. It's like listening to a schizophrenic who stands on a street corner arguing with himself all day. No offense to the schizophrenic.

That’s a bit harsh. I do have periods when I feel I would strangle her, especially when she is making conclusion based on one photo that can be interpreted whichever way (e.g. Medvedeva doesn’t have anorexia because here is a photo of her eating ice cream), or when she fights for Tutberidze’s rights (e.g. Tutberidze’s girls don’t suffer any abuse because here is a photo of them smiling in her company). But generally, when not discussing Tutberidze or he students and ex-students, she does often have a point. I love TA’s ability to say exactly what she means, which is very much same in my culture, but quite unpopular in countries that prefer to dilute unpleasant matters by beating round the bush.

Hmmm, is there anyone else who is a bit disappointed with the news? If they make such a big announcement and make us wait for a few days for the news, I would like more drama, please!

That is one sad situation that involved Mishin. true.... but he also did a lot of good in figure skating, and pretty much a decent fellow.

Well...... then there are thousands of russian sports fans who must be schizophrenic... because these news were not received well, especially by summer sports fans.... They think that there are many more deserving summer sports athletes who won gold at summer olys, who can represent the venue, better and by more right. The russian forums and chats are not supportive of this happening. yes, there are links, but i don't want to flood FSU with them.

... and not just Russians..... some japanese fans also think that this is a PR move, and Med and Co. trying to gain unfair advantage.... https://twitter.com/cerezo70350516/status/1166305396010569728

... and i really don't care this time, because i think she will be judges on her skating, and not her "new title".. so if that's their purpose, it is a waisted effort.

I see, so Lozko is ‘one sad situation that involved Mishin’. What about Nugumanova, would you describe it as another sad situation, or do you think she got what she deserved?

I know situation with Mishin/Nagumanova and Mishin/Gumenuik only from chats, and it is not much details, unlike the recent interview with Lozko where she "tells it all".

Can you link the interview with Lozko, please. I think I missed that.

Ok..... here it is. But it will cause an uproar.. It does ok in "google translate", but not that well, because of incomplete phrases and conversational forms used..

Lozko's story is quite sad, in the interview she tells most of it (but not all, although some details are well known in the FS world) - She talks about Mishin holding her back, not taking her to summer training camp and not giving her much time; she was "at a standstill, not progressing"; her father decided to move to Moscow, throw himself at Eteri's mercy and say "we moved just for you, you must take us"; Lozko also wanted to switch from Mishin to Tutberidze, she says how Tutberidze's tough mental approach, while tough and not for everyone, brings results through hard work; how Mishin stopped her from transferring, made the Federation demand that she returns to St. Pete and keeps training with Mishin, then he and other skaters gave her silent treatment and avoided her; how she then decided to switch to Pisarenko, but Mishing thought she is trying with Tutberidze again, and made sure she does not get any assignments/spots that year. Then she talks about switching to ice dance, no one was there to help her and she just stopped competing. Etc.

Synitsina and Andreeva/Desyatov are out of USA JGP event. The Feds stating "unexpected difficulties". People on chats think it is US Visa issues, not getting it in time.

Is it too late to get Tarusina and Tyutyutina/Shustistkiy in?

yes. it is said on russian chats (by people in the know) that they did not have visas either. the Feds did not do any back-up visas for USA event.

visa issues are not confirmed officialy as reasons for "withdraw", it's just a most probable reason.

I got around doing subtitles for Sofia's video interview, now available on Katze Lucinda youtube channel:
The other interviews (Lisa Tuktamysheva and Andrei Lazukin, Dmitri Aliev) are longer, I'm not sure when I can do subtitles.

That sucks extremely in the current deep ladies field to lose a spot like that.
Russian FS Feds issued another statement, it is now "due to document issues" (not specifying "visa") and only for Sinitsyna, and not the dance team.

I thought the pregnancy theory was as absurd as it could get, then good old TA had to put her 2 kopeks in.
I thought the pregnancy theory was great. Think of the interviews in the Kiss n Cry.

I don't see how TA rained on your parade.

Tarusina has visa. That’s why she was named as the substitute. But she had surgery and that’s why she didn’t go to test skates, so I am guessing that she probably isn’t ready to compete yet.

It's not a guess.... you are very correct, if you know it or not. I am not sure if i should post a link to her private conversation with friends on ask-chat (it's not like public IG or twitter), but let me copy few injury and her condition related comments. She is just out of surgery, just over a week. She is answering questions about "she should have had that surgery and treatment sooner by 3-4 days (meaning probably it would not as acute as it was when she did see the doctor). She is getting annoyed that other girls asking when she will skate, she is saying "when i am ready, i am just out of hospital" (then she is talking about some fight with another girl at the rink, so i don't want to post the whole screen.) just few health related.

А чего раньше не прооперировались? Ты не обследуешься с нужной регулярностью?
Why did you not get the surgery sooner? Don't you check your condition (at the doctors) on regular required basis?

Анна Тарусина - 3 дня
Как только это случилось,мы сразу же пошли на МРТ и в ближайшие сроки сделали операцию
As soon as it happened (as i got hurt) we immediately went to the hospital (in shortest time) and did the surgery.

Давыдов сказал, что надо было раньше..
But Davydov (your coach) said you should have done it earlier...

Анна Тарусина - 3 дня
Ну её можно было сделать на 3-4 дня раньше,но это не криминально
Well, yes, i could have done it 3-4 days earlier, but it is not critical

Дискомфорт ощущается?
Do you feel discomfort?
Анна Тарусина - 3 дня
Да,прыгать плохо
Yes, jumping (off ice/in a gym) is difficult..
Как ощущения на льду после операции?
How do you feel after the surgery?
Ну такое...
Iffy.... (so-so...)
Как нога? К Челябинску будешь в строю?
How is the leg now? will you be ready to skate in Chelyabinsk?
Не могу ничего обещать..
I can't promise anything..

She can’t be out of surgery for just over a week. She mentioned she had the surgery when she didn’t skate at the test skates. The test skates were approximately 3 weeks ago, so her surgery would have been 3-4 weeks ago. Nevertheless, that’s still a very short time to hope she can do triples at this moment.

The conversation i copied, had "date stamps" starting "9 days ago" and ending "3 days ago" as of yesterday. From bits here and there, her first surgery was over a month ago, and then "something else", or some complications... and that's what they are talking about, between 10 and 4 days ago.

Video interview with Mikhail Kolyada on the Russian Federation website www.fsrussia.ru and on Katze Lucinda Youtube Channel (this version has English subtitles)
I really love the guy.... but nobody knows what to expect from his this season.

Wow, if she had two surgeries within the last month, that doesn’t look very promising for this season, does it!

On the surface of it, it doesn't look great. But that is not necessarily so. I don't know what her injury was. If she needed metal in there perhaps they took it out (I had that with a tib/fib fracture). Or they just didn't get the result they wanted (i.e. with cartridge) and took a bit more out. I wish her luck.

I think there are a few countries (Japan & Russia come to mind) that should get double the entries at Worlds. So many talented girls. Some allowance should be made IMO.
