Dancing with the Stars Season 28

Beautiful wedding! Cool that Adam Rippon was a bridesman! Here are some other looks at the second dress:
I absolutely loved the Vera Wang though.

I did too. I don't usually love Vera Wang but that was gorgeous. Jenna mentioned that both dresses needed to be more modest because that's what her mother wanted. But she was drawn to the reception gown the minute she saw it. (I'm assuming because I doubt they always show things in chronological order.)

The HOA of my condo building signed an exclusive deal with Directv. Sadly that means I haven’t had ABC since July 3. The Stars and Pro dancers for this next season, which begins September 16, will be announced this Wednesday. Would some kind FSU poster please let me know who will be on? In the meantime my neighbor will help me get an antenna until Directv’s money grab is over.

Im surprised you dont get ABC on Direct TV. I have a mobile version and get ABC.

Spicer isn't just any evil Republican. He lied on a regular basis on behalf of the President. Putting him on a fun TV show is a big mistake by the producers. I feel sorry for his partner, too, but I don't want to see him on any TV show until he apologizes for his past actions.

But all the Trumpturds will be voting for him because they don't have anything better to do other than watch Fox News.

So the show apparently thinks it is fine to screw the West Coast by having voting during the live show. They just made it really easy to skip this Season of a dumpster fire 🔥

That totally sucks! So West Coasters pretty much just have to remember to vote between 5-6p their time, when they are all at work, or trying to drive home from work, without even seeing the show. So I'm guessing no 1-800 # voting, so I won't be voting either. If anything starts to kill the show for good, this will be it. If I lived on the West Coast I probably wouldn't bother to watch either since I would already know who lost, I'd just find clips of the dances the next day. I don't understand why they can't have a 30 minute vote out show on Tuesday night so e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e can vote just like in the early days! It doesn't need to be an hour, 30 minutes is plenty. That's really only about 22 minutes of show with commercials so do a all Pro opening number, intro/walk out of couples, Tom jibber jabbers for a bit, then the recaps and vote out. Done in 30 minutes. Big mistake on their part. Big big mistake.

I think they allow online voting until noon the next day? Or are they actually eliminating people at the end of the same show where the voting takes place?

The way I read it, the vote out will be based on the Live voting during the broadcast. So elimination will occur the same night as dancing.

Although I'm going to guess that there will be no vote out on 9/16 since that is the first broadcast and don't they typically not vote anyone out until Week 2? (that is just my opinion, not fact).

ETA: Here is the article I read about the voting. To me this quote means vote out is based on Live voting occuring the same night as the dancing.

“One thing we are going to do is introduce live voting on the program this season, which is something we haven’t done before. You’ll see the result at the end of that show based upon what happened that night.”

No Katelyn Ohashi. I think ABC missed the boat on that one.

I at least recognize some names this time.
Karamo Brown from Queer Eye
Bachelorette Hannah Brown
Country singer Lauren Alaina
James Van Der Beek
NFL legend Ray Lewis
Kate Flanery from The Office
Ally Brooke from music group Fifth Harmony
Lamar Odom
Kel Mitchell
Sean Spicer
Supermodel Christie Brinkley
Mary Wilson from The Supremes

And Peta is back.

I recognize only Ray Lewis (NFL), Lamar Odom (NBA) and Sean Spicer. None of the cast interests me, so I won’t be watching.

I know they are not announcing the pairings until the first show, but I figure they have to be rehearsing by now. Have there been any mumbles in the dance community about star/pro sightings at any dance studios 'round town?

Didn't they do live voting in the finale last year? And isn't that one of the reasons Bobby won (because his fanbase is mainly on the east coast)...

I think the live voting is a horrible idea, since the show airs in multiple time zones. It can also either benefit or hinder the first/last dancer, depending on whether voting takes place from the start of the show or is just at the end. If it's all show, the first dancer can garner votes longer, last dancer has less time to affect viewers. If it's just at the end, first dancer will be forgotten, last dancer fresh in the minds.

Christie Brinkley is out. She broke her arm over the weekend. Sailor, her daughter, is taking her spot and had just 3 days to be ready for tonight.

Darnnit! She was the only one I was looking forward to seeing. Sorry for your injury, Christie. Heal well.

I was really impressed with Hannah's cha cha (the announcer guy dropped the last 'cha'). Tons of choreography!

And I'm glad that they're apparently going back to expecting good technique and recognizable steps in the dances. I miss the days when they would criticize dancers for breaking hold in the tango and quickstep.

Yikes! When's the last time we saw the 3 paddles?!?!

Lamar was by no means great, but I don't think that was necessarily the right score. And considering his kidney failure, heart attacks and strokes just a few years ago, he's doing fantastic!

I had forgotten Spicer was on and now I saw him in lime green and...

Happy to see Whitney and Peta back but underwhelmed by the male dancers brought in for the season.

So regarding Sharna and Artem, apparently Sharna was let go due to budget (she re-negotiated her salary a season or 2 ago and was making a lot more than the other females.)

Artem though... he was in discussion with the producers all year, and was never led to believe he wouldn't be back. It was just a few days before the cast announcement that he found out that apparently there would be 'no relationship moving forward' so it looks like he's off the show for good.

He was on Nikki Bella's podcast where he said being let go has made him question his dancing skills, and if he's being let go because he's not good enough, and is wondering whether he should keep dancing. :fragile::wuzrobbed

Okay, so the cynic in me has to say it ..... who the hell did Artem piss off cause that is just crazy. That 'no relationship going forward' sounds spiteful to me.:wideeyes::wideeyes:

Was there a change in the girl Pro lineup? What happened to the new girl? I thought sure they would dump Sean Spicer on the new girl. ;)
