Well, I appreciate the attempt; but the pdfs for the judges scores don't work for me. They haven't for months. (I've gotten a variety of messages when I try to open them, from warnings that the site is unsafe to the current one that says, "The connection was reset, etc." I haven't had this issue with any of the other events all season so it doesn't make sense. Will go try a different browser.

ETA: Nope. This time the message says "The server dropped the connection." (Their server? Because why would my server only drop the connection for PDFs from this one event?) Anyway, happily Sylvia's direct links to the ladies' protocols work, though I guess I will have to ask for help again the next time there is a random question involving the other disciplines.

You can try the Skating Scores site - they have Tallinn scores/protocols etc. https://skatingscores.com/2019/csest/

I too sometimes have pdf issues so I like using their site for scores. They have all the main competitions on there.

Based on Nationals and Junior Worlds.

Which are a good indicator of where she was at the end of this season. Generally speaking, though, I like to consider a broader range of performances and development when looking at patterns with specific athletes. (After all, if we only looked at Bradie's performances at Nationals and Worlds, we would have no idea that she struggled with URs on combinations, etc. this season or in juniors in the past). In Hanna's case, things have been a bit "Pogorilaya-esque" over the years. Great high jumps and spectacular splats/implosions, mostly in the FS. Feels like she is on the right rode and developing well competitively. But I wouldn't say that a propensity for saving jumps is a pattern I have noticed over the past three seasons. Maybe it will become one. It took a long time to become the norm for Osmond, and she did eventually reach a point where her saves became her norm.

Thank you:). I obviously had not even thought of using the Skating Scores site that way.

And thank you for that post, Sylvia. I know sometime in the future, there will be some random reason I want to search through those again.

I agree. To be fair, this was Hanna's first season as a truly international competitor. Hanna first international season was in 2017-2018 where she competed at 1 Junior Grand Prix and two smaller events, so she was a neophyte back then. During the 2017-2018 season, I concur, she was very "Pogorilaya-like" in how she would do really well at one event (Nationals) and then self-combust in another (Egna). However, looking at her 2018-2019 track record, you can see a sizable improvement after she recovered from her injury.

October - Junior Grand Prix: Hanna fell on her 3Lz-3T combo in the Short and Free and under-rotated her 3Lz, 3T, and 3Lo. This was when she was still injured. She scored 157.08.

November - Sectionals: Hanna under-rotated her 3T in the Short and received a downgrade on her 2A-Eu-2S combo. She scored 173.05.

January - US Nationals: Hanna scores a huge 203.11 with everything called clean.

March - Junior Worlds: Hanna's two 3F, her last two jumping passes, are called under-rotated in the Free. She scores 176.69, nearly 20 points higher than her last ISU record.

Hopefully Hanna can continue to improve and ride off of her mini "break-through" season. In my opinion, she deserved at least a 180 during Worlds, but everyone was oddly scored quite low on the PCS, especially Ting and Yuna S.

I would not describe her performances at Nationals in 17-18 as doing really well. Sectionals, yes. Nationals, no.

LOVED her quotes here:
  • “Going into a competition, you don’t think, ‘Okay, second place! Let’s go!’ You always think first place!”
  • “I got my triple-lutz and I was like, okay, I need to improve. I can’t just have a triple-lutz... everyone does that! So the triple axel was the next jump.... After Nationals, I will work on quads.”
  • “I don’t think about my competitors... or supporters, even though I love them, because I can’t focus on everyone talking about me. I need to focus more on myself.”
Alysa is such a bubbly and well spoken young lady. Best of luck in everything that she does.

Choreographer Benoit Richaud on the left --- and a young Swiss figure skater named Anna Baty(something) on the right

Anna La Porta, in the current junior/advanced novice national cadre (advanced novice for international purposes this season, I presume, as she's only 12 - though I don't know her birthdate).

... and she is over 20... :D

You are kidding, right? Over 20 is still a relative 'baby' in terms of maturity, life experience, and peak body condition (i.e., few wrinkles and worn out parts; granted athletes often suffer debilitating injuries requiring surgeries). Bradie has had back surgery, AFAIK. But she's definitely looking good. :)

Mishin is excited about working with Bradie Tennell in the summer camp.

"This girl amazes me with her work ethics, she is a very good role model (for other skaters). I had 3 such good examples, of those who affected positively the micro-climate in my group - it is the italian Kostner, swiss Stephan Lambiel and now Tennell. But i am not able to offer her permanent training, unless she moves to St. Petersburg, so we'll work during summer camps".

Sounds like Bradie will spend more time in the Summer with Mishin?

Starr Andrews was a guest coach at Parker Pennington's "Skate Dance Dream" camp last week in Shaker Heights, Ohio and shared this set of photos: https://www.instagram.com/p/ByiucGXpxfL/

Ashley Wagner also was in Ohio and Florida last week and I posted links plus an article in her GSD thread yesterday: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...to-post-competition-life.105668/#post-5596294

ETA Ashley's quote re. Alysa in the article:
Wagner spent part of her [SOI] tour with Alysa Liu, a Californian who won the 2019 U.S. Championships at age 13.

"She is ... I don't know how else to say this other than 'normal,' " Wagner said. "She is one of the most normal 13-year-olds that I have ever run into in the skating world. She toured with me for a couple of shows. We were autograph-signing buddies, so I got to know her pretty well."

Mishin said that he will hold 2 (more?) summer training camps, next one end of June, and another in early July. given that he is hosting a summer camp now, and it is "early June", it sounds like he'll hold 2 more in addition to the one now.
The link does not say if Bradie is staying for the next sessions.

Thanks... I like to know where things come from :) and this San Jose Mercury News video was published back on Jan. 18, 2019 during Nationals (original source on YT): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZl0gFtYYiw

Loop (triple or double) is the required solo jump in the Junior SP this season. Thanks for sharing. She placed 7th in Junior Ladies at Midwestern Sectionals in November 2018 and paid her own way to compete at 2019 Kempen Trophy in Belgium this past March, winning the silver: http://www.kbkfwedstrijden.be/KempenTrophy/2019/CAT006RS.HTM

Mirai is not coming back, or have I missed something again? 😅
Mirai said she's stepping out of the 2019-2020 season, but she is not retiring. Regardless of whether or not Mirai decides to come back, it is still great to see that she's continuously practicing and training after her surgery. Thus far, Mirai has showcased her 2A, 3T, 3S, and 3Lo, but she wants to get back her 3F, 3Lz, and some combos. Mirai can do 3-2 and 2A combos, but no 3-3. I think Mirai tried a 3T-3T, but it was under-rotated.

Mirai's slowly building a legacy as one of the greats of the newer generation and it's awesome to see her be so genuinely happy. Best of luck to her. Many people may look at her career with a lot of what ifs (i.e. when she was one program away from being World Champion), but I see it as a prime examples of what determination and grit can accomplish in the face of huge adversity.

@Jeschke, Mirai is still rehabbing her hip ("Next set of physical therapy exercises for my hip. Things are feeling much better already and my triple loops are feeling so much better..."): https://www.instagram.com/p/ByjcsYJli4E/

Mirai was quoted in NBC's OlympicTalk article published during the SOI tour that "I think I wanna come back for myself. I want my elements back. Maybe I’ll pull a Daisuke Takahashi. Who knows?”
Not a surprise but Ashley and Mirai confirm they will not compete on the Grand Prix [May 8]:

Gracie Gold posted a photo yesterday of her new banner now hanging in the IceWorks rink: https://www.instagram.com/p/Byie9_-ncGV/
A little over a year ago I moved to IceWorks to start skating again. I didn’t know anyone, I didn’t have any friends. It’s amazing how in 14 months a place can go from just being four walls, to a home ♥️
Last week she spoke as a special guest at the JED Foundation's 18th Annual Gala in NYC (photo of her onstage): https://twitter.com/SofiaBPertuzPhD/status/1136416593033015297
Quote tweeted by JED during the gala: https://twitter.com/jedfoundation/status/1136417183356149766
“Everyone at some point has not been fine. It’s okay to be “not fine” and it’s ok to say it”- @GraceEGold. #JEDgala2019
