I’m currently watching When Calls the Heart. But am looking forward to watching Dirty John and Russian Doll.

In regards to Miss Fisher, Ms Fisher starts this week in Australia!

We're in the middle of binge watching Daredevil Season 3. This season I find most of the characters annoying and the same with a lot of the plot points. A lot of it is predictable too.

OTOH, whenever an episode ends, it's in such a way that I feel compelled to watch the next one to see what happens next. So good pacing and editing at least.

I binged watched The Umbrella Academy and although it sounded too weird for me, i quite enjoyed it. I am yet to watch Daredevil season 3. Not sure why but I am just not motivated to watch it.

Number five is my favorite.

On the subject of dysfunctional superhero teams, I watched the first episode of Doom Patrol. I did not realize Robotman is voiced by Brendan Fraser. Which made the scene where Robotman was talking about Crazy Jane groping him a little cringeworthy considering what Brendan Fraser said about being groped by a powerful Hollywood exec.

We finished last night. The ending is satisfying. But I'm not sorry there won't be a 4th season.

I watched Oh Lucy! which was described to me as a comedy. Sure, it's a comedy only if you think a seriously screwed up lonely life, depression and wanting to kill yourself are hilarious. So once I got past the part where it wasn't remotely funny but a serious drama with a few cute and funny moments it wasn't bad. Just don't let anyone tell you it's funny because it doesn't belong anywhere near the comedy genre IMO.

I don't think anyone in this film has a happy life and are all searching for something more. I do recommend the film but be prepared. You can watch it through Netflix DVD. I don't know if it's streaming anywhere.

Finally watched Killing Eve. It’s amazing. We binged watched in two nights.

I love that show. Some times I think the tone is a bit off with the balancing act it has to do, but I love the Eve character and how far the rabbit hole she's going down in.

For anyone who wants to practice their French there are The Returned, Call My Agent on Netflix and The Bureau on Prime. Highly recommend them all although they are all very different.

Their titles in French are: Les Revenants, Dix pour cent, and Le bureau des légendes. The Bureau stars the trés hott monsieur Matthieu Kassovitz.

You can search Prime by language and can always Google more shows in your language of preference on Netflix

I started watching an anime on Hulu without reading the description (The Promised Neverland). The first episode didn't end as expected based on how the episode started. I'll admit I was surprised just because I didn't bother learning anything about it. There are happy little orphans who find out a horrible secret about their orphanage and have to develop an escape plan for everyone.

It's subtitled so you have to read instead of being able to wander around cooking and cleaning like I normally do. I am enjoying it and will be looking forward to how this ends. Can they escape? Is there anywhere safe to go? How were these orphanage farms developed?

It should be a fun watch.

On Netflix :

Watched EO a while back : one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I've yet to watch Roma but it seems that Netflix can't produce good quality original movies. Good thing they have some "oldies". It was quite pleasant to watch Matilda and The Addams Family. Took me back to the sweet nineties ^_^

OTOH I often find Netflix original series enjoyable. Lately, I've watched :
  • Sex Education : I really enjoyed it. Most lead characters were likable, but Asa Butterfield and Emma Mackey stood out for their chemistry (plus he has the sweetest eyes, and she's gorgeous) and Agent Scully was of course my favorite. Eric's character (gay best friend) was fabulous.
  • I also enjoyed Russian Doll and The Umbrella Academy
  • I just started watching Atypical. To quote it, it's "refreshing" to see a fiction on autism.

I'm watching Counterpart on Prime (it's a Starz) show and I'm super into it. I don't even want to say anything about the premise b/c I ended up getting spoiled for a few things and I think it would have been better not to have been (although it is still an awesome show). J.K. Simmons is in it and tons of really great actors (including Harry Lloyd, who plays a somewhat more normal character than usual for him, although still not completely normal!). Check it out!

Oh, we just binged watched this and it was really wonderful. Funny, lots of real issues, no one was made a stereotype, feminist.

I started the new season of Victoria and Albert is annoying the crap out of me.

My daughter FINALLY got me into watching Atlanta (Hulu). It's really interesting, funny, serious... I'm sorry I didn't watch last year when my kids told me to watch! I'm only at the beginning but so far it is about 2 cousins who are breaking into the music scene in Atlanta. Sometimes I am a little uncomfortable with some situations, but I think that is a good thing!

Netflix will be making a 10 episode adaptation of The Baby Sitters Club :cheer2:

I’m curious what the modern day adaptation will look like. These books made me love reading and basically taught me English so I’m excited.
I read them as an adult. :shuffle:

We watched Paddleton the other night. Netflix original.

Lovely movie.

Ray Romano is fantastic.

And I really like Mark Duplass and his films in general.

They’re simple and slow, but they feel very real and he always explores relationships really well.

This one is about a beautiful platonic male relationship. Not often seen in film.

My apologies to Marie Kondo fans but I watched one episode of her show and it was so boring!!!
I found the first episode boring and annoying, the couple could not have been more self centered and annoying. I decided to give the second episode a try and found it a little more interesting and there were some good ideas, but honestly I don't get the hype at all.

I almost put that in my queue but didn't due to the subject matter. I felt like that one would be one where I would have to prepare myself to watch. I will probably put it in my queue after hearing that you felt the subject matter was handled well. I'm not sure when I'll get around to watching it though.

My friend's teenage son recommended Catwalk: Tales from the Cat Show Circuit. If you love cats, you must watch this. So fun.

Also he recommended Animal Airport. Amazing tales from Heathrow. I hear transporting animals via or to the UK is very hard.

IMO it’s handled so beautifully and there’s lots of wonderful humour.
I have had a ton of family history of cancer so I had a good cry. But I found it cathartic.
BTW the “cancer” thing is in the film’s synopsis so it isn’t a spoiler.
