I'm glad Elena got some recognition too. She is just divine and so likable.
Mine, too. Nothing about her was cookie cutter.Thank you for the translation.
Elena is my favorite Russian skater by far. When she skated, she always looked like the ice was the best place on earth to be on.
I still think she should have won in Bratilasva, that was unfair. I hope she will stay in figure skating as a coach choreographer what ever...
Well, cookie cutters do make clean, neat lines and shapes...Mine, too. Nothing about her was cookie cutter.
That was a nice interview. One of the things Elena said is that she misses the excitement of the competition and being able to perform in front of audience. She did not like practicing so much, but loved to compete or to perform. She felt this way just recently, while performing and exhibition number at the #2 Russian Cup at Megasport.Radionova's IG Live chat with Sports.ru earlier today: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CGXzVxapJIc/
She did not make any statements specifically about this subject. But her comments in the original article at the top of this thread has the info.Has she said why it took her 2+ years to make a retirement announcement?

Yes to both. Sotnikova just recently officially retired and opened her own skating school. Pogo announced retirement when she got married few years ago.Speaking of delayed retirements, has Pogorilaya officially retired yet? What about Sotnikova?
