Btw folks, does 'Aliona in the winners lounge' still belong to Tursy-POTS?
Thoughts on that?

For me it’s Aliona with TAT :TT1:, if we are talking about launge and other off the ice reactions.
I seriously get teary-eyed every ****ing time I see that video :wuzrobbed And I’ve re-watched it A LOT in last few days

Amateur. Clearly you've never sat through a full Europeans.

Euros Ladiez?? you mean that competition where girls with US novice (or Russian juvenile) level make the LP cut?? Im not a masochistic:p.

I have watched full Euros since 2008 but not for Ladiezzz. Least fave discipline by far from me. I do enjoy the top girls but the lower level ones are unsufferable most of the time.

I'm dying watching these first 2 groups. After free dance yesterday it's so zzzzzz.

Such busy days, trying to catch up with you guys. Russian cup!!! Lovebirds back together? Lovebirds 2.0? And Samarin+Bossman?
Now I managed to wake up for the last two groups of ladies.... That's something!

Finally, I’m ready to admit it: I’m heartbroken because of Evgenia :fragile:
Like really heartbroken :wuzrobbed

NEVER SAY DIE!
All it takes is one error from Zags and she can win.

Zagitova's TES is astonishing and well-deserved.

I just don't understand the insane PCS inflation--Med deserves more than a 0.8 advantage in PCS! Even having Zags 1.5-2 points lower in PCS (high 8s to low 9s) would be good.

But Zag's PCS is remarkably consistent amongst all 9 judges, so...

BY THE WAY CONGRATULATIONS SCHOTT :encore:

And for the love of god, let's get Konstantinova to Worlds, plz

Today I learnt that Nicole Schott is apparently half-Polish , Kailani Crane likes jiu-jitsu & snowboard, Emmi Peltonen father was 4-time Olympian in hockey with 3 bronze medals etc. etc. Thank you Polish Eurosport ladies ... for bringing up curious trivia about our ladies! :glamor:

There are also at least two capable violoncellists: Mae & Karen.

Bossman's Olympic Ladies SP recap (as it happened):

Before I start, let's take a moment in silence and remember those who we lost on the way to Pyeongchang: Pogo, TM1,, Radio, Park, Perkova, Zhang, Nagai, Dasa, Queen U, Freed, Mrs3Lz3T, Galustyan, Joshi, Laurine, Sima, GG :drama:

Overall:
-For god's sake can't there be an automatic computer system for </<< calls? These totally random calls do **** me off! :mitchell:
- Can someone tell the Italian official, that he is not 16 anymore (since about 35 years at least) and should finally get an age-appripriate haircut?

Tennell - There are Zhang, Hicks and Glenn and we do get Tennell :wall:
Williams - Hell yeah :encore: I love her skating! I am so ****ing happy that she made it and even passed the final flight! That's my girl! Cheers to @pinky166 :40beers:
Khnychenkova - No comment.
Nikitina - Kuchvalska for worlds! :EVILLE:
Kim - Solid outing, her skating does nothing for me and this should have been Park's moment. I just can't! :wuzrobbed
Oestlund - And Majorov denied the spot! All I gotta say! :drama:
Li - Missing Li 1.0
Paganini - Can't wait for the intentional double in the FS :blah:
Mambekova - Challenges Austman for best OES-skater of non-OES-country. I knew immediately @alchemy void would appreciate that!
Peltonen - Kinda gifted in PCS. She is boring to me, scusi. But it's nice for @Hanna and @Finnice she made the cut, which was not a given. German ES totally orgasmed about her and would have put her above Tennell
Austman - @pinky166 might be pleased to see Chartrand back for worlds. Power of Austman was gone the second she threw her OES-FS in the basket!
Meite - 3-2 combo is so very much non-Meite!
Craine - I like her energy and charisma, but she is so sloppy in everything she does! But good lord, those nails! :glamor:
Toth - This SP is so bad, so much, it should not have been close to making the cut!
Russo - A shame. I love the 'Eyes wide shut' program; it's still too avantgarde I fear and I expect to see Rizzochick at worlds.
Hendrickx - Hate the unitard, hate the pigtail, hate the music, love the make-up :glamor: I totally dislike her style of skating but I appreciate her going for 3-3! #splatordie
Schott - Holy shit yes! :40beers::encore::nopryde: That's my girl. I have to admit, this looked ****ing cautious but finally she nailed a clean SP! Great job Schott! Awesome placement! I hope she can somehow stick to that in the FS! Loved the #TeamD team spirit cheering for her in the crowd!
Rajicova - Presentation improved, I am still confused this leads Schott.
Sakamoto - Love her. 5.5pts seem too big of a gap to close for bronze, but who knows? #fingerscrossed ; I am still unsure it was a wise decision of JPN fed giving that worlds spot to Higuchi :shuffle:
Nagasu - Just for sentimental reasons, I cheer so hard, but her charme of the POTC-SP back then 2010 is gone long time. Totally distracted by that USA-tape!
Daleman - Personal gay icon of the season! :glamor: Those nails, the make-up, the 'What the hell'-attitude one second after the program finished. She is a true diva. Love it. :glamor:
Chen - Wonderful decision US fed :wall:
Tursynbaeva - Ouch. Mom got her meds, boooh!
Choi - That girl is ****ing beautiful! Nothing more to say! :glamor:
Medvedeva - Balls of steel! :respec:
Miyahara - Bronze in reach! :drama: Not sure how to survive the FS! Go girl!
Zagitova - 3lz3lo :respec: Tutberidze tigress at the boards, awesome! The Gauz :swoon: :smokin: Love the way Tut can't even hide where her alliances are and puts on forced fake smile :D
Osmond - She is so not my cup of tea, but you can't deny, if she's on, she's on! I still have sentimental hopes for JPN bronze.
Kostner - No-balls-Kostner! 3t would have been doable after the 3flip. The much I love her skating and the much I enjoy her being in this final group, I am not this should have surpassed Daleman :shuffle:
Sotskova - (( @Hanna ))) Stasia for worlds please :mitchell: But as we know she might **** up junior worlds and puts herself outta consideration: Tsurskaya for worlds please! :mitchell:

Why don't you understand? Medvedeva received almost the same degree of rapid (and mostly uncalled) PCS rise in her debut senior season as well. It's judged these days more as TES proxy or as a way to ensure that they get their longed-for order intact with some infusion of politics. Having some new hyper high records I guess may work as some (im their idea) advertising factor as well. Corridor scoring & relative similarity between various judges also reinforces itself. Psychological phenomena of being surrounded by other judges and pressure that stems from that resulting in conformism also explains quite much.

Medvedeva was getting high 8s/the occasional 9s by the end of her 1st senior season, the increase was nowhere near what Zagitova has had over the season. Zag got almost 4 points more in PCS for her SP today than Med did in Boston. And although Med's skating then had its faults, there were nowhere near as many gaps as in basic skills like flow and posture as Zagitova has at the moment.

I'd guess that Zag got a big push from the federation around GPF & kept getting it because they weren't sure how fit Med would be with her fracture and now tendonitis.

 how is Zag over Med or vice versa politics? They are essentially the same machines. They will be 1-2 in every event they are both entered. Just the order will change.

I'm in awe of the Eteri product. She is rewriting women's skating and either the rest of the world keeps up, or they'll be left on the ice. Moreover, if the rules are changed, she'll adapt and her students will still slay. Whatever she's doing is working. Will they both be around 4 years from now? Who knows? There are juniors ready to shove them out of the way same as they did to Radionova, Pogo, and Tuk. We all watched Russian nationals. We saw what the Russians have in their arsenal. They are going to dominate junior worlds. Again. They are going to dominate senior worlds. The are going 1-2 at the Olympics.

I like both of them and am perfectly fine with the results whatever they may be. Their focus at 15 and 18 is remarkable. Their technical skills. Their attention to detail.

I feel sorry for Sotskova. She must have hit a growth spurt because she's been equally consistent until the last two competitions. It won't matter who Russia send to sr worlds in regard to next year's placements because either Med or Zag will handle it. So, my selfish self would like there to be a reshuffling of the Russian ladies and Gubanova ends up at junior worlds. I want to see her get GP spots next year and she needs to rise in the rankings.
