I love Hubbell & Donohue but they have a long history of messing up under pressure and in the big moment. It happened at worlds last year when they were set to win a medal, it happened at the GPF this year, and it happened again here when it is clear with the 3rd highest PCS for a bad FD skate (which ironically they didnt get for their good SD) that the judges had them pencilled in easily for bronze if they just skated cleanly. I think it is silly to believe skating the Team Event would have made any difference, other than giving them some sort of Olympic medal, but it clearly wouldnt have changed their fate here which is just their history. They are weak competitiors, and not pressure skaters, but still an enjoyable team to watch who has come a long way and improved a lot.

Well deserved!

V/M are simply legends and P/C have so much more to give and I am looking forward to see how they push the sport in the next years. For me the two FDs were totally different but equally good, but V/M did have an edge in the SD.
. I hope H/D can move on and keep working with their team to figure their competitive mindset out. The Shibs skated the best they have this season and even though for me this FD did not capture the 2016 magic, they totally deserved to medal.
Atleast D&W were beating V&M often at one point. It reminds me of MK fans, who in her prime were an awful bunch, although post her retirement most of the bad have dissapeared and her fan base is now pretty good with only the odd rotten apple like giselle left, who used to thrash Lipinski and Slutskaya and anyone who dared to challenge or heaven forbid ever beat Kwan relentlessly. It also reminds me of the entitlement and arrogance of T&D fans in their return that one season of reinstated pros, but atleast that blissfully lasted only one season, but with V&M and their ubers it has lasted 6 or more. And I consider myself a V&M fan but some of their ubers the last 6 years have become embarassing, and almost make me feel less excited about their historic win than I otherwise would have been.
