I think that the Nathan hype is good for American casual interest in skating. I've had friends who have never mentioned skating before mention Nathan. (They've mentioned Karen Chen, too, but that may be be partly because these friends are Asian-Americans in the Bay Area). So, the hype might put more pressure on Nathan, but I think it's good for American skating. For all sorts of reasons, I wish NBC had put the men on broadcast tv tonight, not the women.

Nathan did remarkably well under the circumstances. You don't need to misrepresent Nathan's performance to argue that Jason was the right choice over Vincent. I happen to think that Jason was the right choice. However, I totally disagree with your criticism and characterization of Nathan's performance.
