Thank you, @RoseRed . I wasn't sure how far down to keep track, but think I will go ahead & include info on teams from the JGP/GP/Euros/4CCs/Worlds at least.

On top of Stairs/Royer and Fabbri/Pietrantonio, in Canadian junior dance splits (of those who competed internationally) we've also had:

Irina Galiyanova and Tommy Tang
Olivia Han and Grayson Lochhead

It sounded like Tommy was going to focus on school moving forward. Irina and Grayson were both on IPS, but have since announced they are pairing up. They both train with Carol Lane and Juris Razguljaevs.
That makes sense....Easy to discourage your students to make sure no competition next yr for G/P.

Montreal
DSC (and now ..?)
Igor
Marina
Zhulin
Lyon (Zazoui - Schoenfelder)

What else do we have?

-Fusar-Poli has several teams in Milan, including Guignard & Fabbri and Komatsubara & Koleto.
-Svinin & Zhuk have Stepanova & Bukin, Yanovksaya & Lukacs, Shpilevaya & Smirnov, & Shevchenko & Eremenko.
-Wheaton has McNamara/Carpenter, the Parsons, the Greens, Gropman & Somerville, and two other JGP teams.
-Mezzadri has Cappellini & Lanotte.
-Morozov has Weaver & Poje.
-Lane & Razgulajevs have Gilles & Poirier. Not sure if Kuzmichova & Sinicyn are still training?
-Sylwia Nowak has Kaliszek & Spodyriev.
-Margaglio has the Finns.
-Rumiantseva & Volobueva have Popova & Mozgov and Loboda & Drozd.
-Kustarova has Zagorski & Guerreiro.
-Liapina has Polischuk & Vakhnov.
-Gorshkov has Konkina & Yakushev.

I'm not familiar with which Russian junior dance coaches work under other senior dance coaches. Feel free to enlighten me:).

What a weird comment to make. Galiyanova/Tang and Han/Lochhead were nowhere near G/P's level. And junior teams split all the time and people choose to focus on school. Also both of those teams had more junior eligibility and almost certainly would not have moved up.

As well, I believe Irina said on her IPS profile that she also has Russian citizenship and was open to skating for another country.

In what place do Olivia and Adria have to finish to get two spots for Spain? do you think it is likely?

For Smart/Diaz :
FRA, USAx3 (probably), CANx2, ITAx2, RUS, probably JAP but not sure. And then ? They did beat CAN #3 but they improved a lot. RUS #2 ?

S/D total personal best score is 159.4 and Z/G 173.02, I will never understand why this team get those scores :wall:

I forgot that Bob/Sol isn't here, so there is a chance, but it's just as likely that Smart/Dias are beaten by Russia #2, Canada #3, and Japan. In fairness, I think Sara and Kirill would not be a slam dunk, either.

OK Im looking at the Dance start orders.

Ok, so wahts everyones impressions and thoughts with Shibs and V&M not here.

I think C&L will make the podium (bronze only) with a home field PCS prop. Although I do kinda prefer G&F (and who doesn't like to see Babs?)

So.. P&C gold for SURE!

Bronze - C&L

Silver - Hmmm.. an American team? B&S coulda medaled here but I guess they are peacing out? As time went by I kinda liked them more and more.

How do you all feel S&B will perform here? They were coming on like gangbusters and were the ones to watch this season... but I dont know what to think.....

And lastly and most importantly.. what about one of my husbands Paul Poirier? Any chance of a top 5?

Given the callers, I see a Montreal going 1 and 2 and Cappellini/Lanotte placing third unless the judges REALLY want Stepanova/Bukin or another team on the podium. I'm not convinced S/B are being pushed that much yet, but we will see later this week, and I don't know if Chock/Bates, Gilles/Poirier, and Weaver/Poje have a push.

I have been thinking about them as well. I betcha they will skate with "something to prove" attitude. I don't have ANY info on why thy were uninvited it the Games but that had to sting and make them angry.

Why are the Shibutanis not going to Worlds? Is one of them injured? Are they retiring? Is anyone else finding it hard to believe they just decided they didn't want to go????

This is what they have been training for. And this was their best chance yet to get the silver medal - with an outside chance at gold if P/C screw up. Why on earth would they not go?

They decided to take advantage of their post-Olympic opportunities and probably realized they wouldn't be in fighting shape to go to Worlds. I guess the USFS is ok with it because the Shibs have been promoting USFS and skating during those opportunities and H/D and C/B are competitive enough to medal.

They had a lot of new opportunities come up for them after winning their bronze medals at the Olympics. With the whirlwind media tour and other commitments, there wasn’t time for them to train and properly prepare for worlds, and maybe they just didn’t feel like competing at worlds was really necessary for them at this point. No word on retirement yet. From their interviews, they sound interested in what comes after skating while also emphasizing that they’re young enough to continue competing.

They already have a world silver medal from 2016. And this season, they were training for the Olympics, not worlds. They accomplished everything they wanted to accomplish for this season.

Info on the Tango Rhythm Dance next season:

https://www.isu.org/inside-single-p...ications-fs/16863-isu-communication-2148/file

Two sections of the Tango Romantica one after the other.

Something new:

One (1) Step Sequence in Hold or Not Touching or Combination of both (Style B) chosen from the following Types of Pattern:
- Midline – skated along the full length of the ice surface on the Long Axis.
- Diagonal – skated as fully corner to corner as possible
- Circular – utilizing the full width of the ice surface on the Short Axis

The pattern of the Step Sequence must maintain the integrity or basic shape of the chosen pattern. Some deviations in the chosen pattern are expected in order to complete the required turns. However, if the chosen pattern is not clearly recognizable, there will be a required reduction for incorrect Pattern by the Judges

There are also four key points for the pattern next season as opposed to three.

Specifications to Style B, Rhythm Dance 2018/2019:
- One (1) Stop permitted, up to 5 seconds
- One (1) Retrogression up to two measures is permitted and may start from the permitted Stop.
- Loop(s) NOT permitted
- The Hold requirement is not considered for Level

ETA:

Whoa, check out the new FD requirements.

Two step sequences but one of them has to be a one-foot step sequence and the other is Style B. Senior teams have to do three choreographic elements now and they added a new category called sliding element to choose from. However one of the three HAS to be a choreographic character step, which is new.

Choreographic Character Step Sequence - The following requirements apply:
- Performed anywhere in the program
- Must be placed around the Short Axis and proceed from barrier to barrier.
- May be in hold or not touching

Up to 1 step maximum between Twizzles

That means that the skaters are not allowed to make a million steps between twizzles as lately many teams are doing?

In the Rhythm Dance, yes, because the required twizzles are Sequential. In the FD they are Synchronized Twizzles, and up to three steps are allowed. What I find really interesting is that partners can be in hold during the steps between twizzles. This is new, right?

I think top ten is not likely, but it is possible. Smart & Diaz defeated Zagorsky & Guerreiro head to head at Golden Spin, Soucisse & Firus at Skate Canada as well as a club competition this summer, and defeated Hawayek & Baker--with weak twizzles--in the short at Skate Canada.

Smart & Diaz have lost to Hawayek & Baker three times overall this season and lost to Muramoto & Reed and Soucisse & Firus at the U.S. Classic.

Soucisse & Firus defeated Muramoto & Reed at 4CCs. Muramoto & Reed defeated S&F in the SD there.

Zagorsky & Guerreiro defeated Muramoto & Reed overall at the Olympics. Muramoto & Reed defeated Zagorsky & Guerreiro in the FD there.

Muramoto & Reed also defeated Kaliszek & Spodyriev in the free at the Olympics, but Kaliszek & Spodyriev defeated M&R overall there.

Conclusion:
So . . . split results between all of these teams.

Hawayek & Baker seem to have the edge regarding top 9 as they have defeated everyone on the list & none of these teams have defeated them overall this season. First worlds, though.

A level 4 rhumba pattern & two solid sets of twizzles could serve any of these teams very well. And those things are possible for any of these teams . . . on two very good days.
